You are the one who is clueless. You can blame Stone for hiring Udoka but clearly its still Udoka's job to develop players. If players arent improving thats on Udoka and not Stone cuz thats Udoka's job his job is literally to coach these players and part of a coach's job is skills development. Stone doesnt know anything about skills improvement thats why he hired a coach to do it for him so its dumb to blame him since skills development is not part of his JD.

If you went to a barber and he gave you an awful haircut is it your fault and not the barber? You are the one who chose that barbershop right? So according to your logic its your fault your haircut is messed up and not the barber whose job it is to cut your hair? LMAO you are the clueless one yet another Udoka lover

He was good in GLeague but didnt get enough time to play real games.

That was one of the issues with Morey the player churn. Players have to show something immediately otherwise they get dumped after 1 yr. Thats why the team kept getting vets cuz only vets could something immediately.

He did the same with the Sixers got rid of Champagne, Isiah Joe and Mccain way too soon.

Confidence…when you play with a star player in a solid organization, you tend to believe in yourself a bit more. Our guys have Jae’sean Tate, Eric Gordon, John Wall, the girlfriend beater allegedly etc.

Every player has improved and developed. Sengun got progressively better defensively every season. Jabari got stronger and more consistent every season. Amen improved his ball handling and playmaking and, though his three pointer was down this season, improved his jump shot every year. Reed improved his handles, his shooting, his defense. Tari got a little less out of control.

nobody developed into a super star, but they’ve developed. And the first three years of guys like Sengun were with extremely dysfunctional rosters and coaches, so perhaps that slowed down his growth, though many believe simply playing more is all you need to develop (I wholeheartedly disagree).

There’s nothing wrong with being concerned. There’s nothing wrong with pondering “what if this trend continues.”
You should always consider possibilities and ways to improve should X happen or Y.

You should also consider the possibility that this year was a fluke. Just 365 days ago, we were clearly the up and coming team, despite losing to the Warriors in our young guys’ very first playoff experience. We lose our veteran point guard for the season, have other injuries that keep signed players out, lose more rotation players to injury, and deal with a Kd social media scandal that most likely killed any vibe or chemistry the team had or was developing.

Don’t completely discount the idea that we are in fact in a good place. We have things to work on. We have gaps to fill. But we are not a lost franchise. We have a ton of talent. Don’t quit on them.

This has always been a particular stone in my craw

There were studies that said they were having some of the most space
but could not knock down shots

I see the rockets development system as a weak point to put it mildly. Yes some of the yiung guys have gotten incrementally better, but the development has been pretty slow and underwhelming. Either the development isn’t good enough or the talent isn’t good enough…or both.

To the OP’s question, I’d have to go all the way back to Clint for a true rockets development success story. The current regime’s track record of development has been poor, especially when you consider how badly we mishandled Jalen Green his first couple of seasons.

This is a hyperbolic thread. Amen just had a career year, especially post All-Star break. Bari’s stats improved virtually across the board. Sengun was appearing on Top 10 MVP candidate lists before he got dinged up. Reed, obviously, made a big leap, though I won’t pretend like I think we’ve developed him well.

For all of Ime’s flaws, at least he gave Sengun a chance. Stone has him buried behind Bruno and Wood. Had Ime never come along, Sengun might have stayed a bench player for the quite some time.
