Neither one of them is a finished product and are both still a couple of years away from being in their prime. And the biggest issue with both of them is a dysfunctional coach runs the offense. We have the makings of a very decent, maybe SUPER, home grown big three with Alpi, Amen, and Reed. We just need a coach who can coach on both ends of the court and to get rid of the chemistry killing cancer aka Dickerson. Once our guys hit their prime with the right coach, then we can properly evaluate them and make moves accordingly.
2 more years of Ime clapping his hands together and telling them to play harder, then trashing them in the post game for being punked and soft.
Sengun’s 3 point shot is too boring. He should start taking wide open -top of the key- flamingo one leg 3s or just start whispering to the ball like he’s about to do his free throw shot. He’s just gotta swish one then he can start pump faking off the whisper.
He doesn't even need to make one before he starts pump-faking. And it doesn't even matter if defenders never bite. The man is gonna pump fake!!
That's the dance, right? Pump fake - twerk - twerk - flamingo - rebound - twerk - twerk - twerk - stiff-shake. I think I got the steps right.
I understand that some people here are frustrated with how the season went, but you really need to think about everything that was demanded and expected from Alpi on the court. Alpi was supposed to run the offense, Alpi was supposed to execute, Alpi was supposed to defend, Alpi was supposed to become the three-point shooter. First the point guard got injured, then Steven Adams as well. Then KD started acting up and disrupted the morale of an already shaken team. This is a young team that had to deal with so many setbacks. They should have beaten the Lakers, and then, in my opinion, the season would have been considered a good one. But I do think a lot of people are treating Alperen very unfairly.
In the playoffs Alpi and Amen both ran the offense with Amen generating 1 more assist and better assist to turnover ratio Amen had 5.7 assists with 2.3 assists to turnover and 12.8 potential asists Alpi had 4.7 assists with 1.6 assists and 11.2 potential asists And both lead the team in scoring, Amen took 2 less shots but made only 1 less point than Alpi Amen 14.3 shots 19.2 points 55.3 TS% Alpi 16.5 shots 20.3 points 51.9 TS% Both went to the FT line 7 times per game And both took only 1.3 3pt shots per game But Amen played 44 minute and 2.4 net rating Alpi only 38 minutes and -1.9 net rating basically Alpi and Amen both had to do everything but that's expected difference is Alpi on his 5th year regressed on everything while Amen on his 3rd year improved on everything except his 3 pt shooting
