a little more context is in order, Stephon Castle is a forward, no? with starting PG Aaron Fox unable to play, the ball-handling duties were forced upon Castle, the forward.
He played 2% of his minutes at forward last season and 0% this season. Some people consider that enough to qualify him as a forward (i’ve gotten into this argument before) but i generally would say he’s a guard.
You are right here, Spurs leaped up 6 spots to take Harper, Mavs leaped up 10 spots to capture the Flagg.....both Texan teams. That meant Mavs were a borderline Play IN team and the Spurs were just a below Play In team last year.
When Wemby was pulled after his blood cot diagnosis, Fox has a minor injury and the Spurs decide to shut him down for the rest of the year, essentially tanking for another high pick which turned out to be #2 for Harper. I was still surprised they got a pick that high. It sucks knowing the Rockets get picks 2 and 3 in drafts that never netted them anything close to a Harper.
You cannot tell me they are not favored by the league when they got 3 1st Overall picks in Robinson, Duncan and Wemby.....and 2nd Overall Pick. And all those picks in great Draft Classes on top of it all. While I don't like Utah, they have no 1st Overall Picks ever.
I think Wemby is a tad more emotional than Duncan, I think once he gets his 1st and 2nd Chips he is not going to be that hungry. Also repeating, 3-peating takes a lot of energy, doubt it for them, Duncan has not done it.
