If Reed has ONE playoff run like Castle, everyone would be ecstatic with his development. That shows how much better Castle is right now, but also his potential. Spurs Hella scary, way more than OKC ever was because I thought Chet and Dub were overrated. Between Harper, Castle, and lowkey Vassel and Champagne, you've got alot of dog and 2 way skill, that's not even counting Fox who was great on both sides in game 7
That’s true. They got Fox then Harper to run point. Castle is a combo guard and he could have filled that role for us next to Fred.
misinformation. He had tons of wide open looks in the regular season and post yet failed to connect. He also had plays ran for him.
After looking at that 2024 draft again, it seems very suspect. Atlanta passed on Castle to take a Spanish player who hasn’t lived up to expectations. Rockets passed on Castle to take a less athletic, less skilled player. Very odd to me. Which makes me believe that draft much like the 23 draft was manipulated by the NBA to favor the Spurs. I always contended that the draft process is controlled and predetermined based on what they determine is the most favorable market since there’s a lot of money to be made. And with revenue sharing all teams benefit from Wemby in the San Antonio market with a large following overseas and a preexisting French connection. With the European market expanding and multiple TV and licensing deals including ones in France, it makes too much sense. Perhaps the NBA also wanted 2 international players in those first 2 picks in 2023 thinking they could also be stars and further increasing European interest.
This is not a good look for Reed Sheppard lol. We have to mentalize reed that he's good enough and castle just plays like he knows hes the man.
Castle just proved that he belongs on the same court, guarding SGA 1-on-1 while making plays throughout, he even improved his turnovers. Reed could not handle a weak Lakers team and got outplayed by Luke Kennard/Marcus Smart. Imagine Castle getting outplayed by Kennard/Smart in a series. There are 30/30 NBA GMs that would take Castle over Reed and it's not even close.
trevor ariza lite getting his flowers for shooting like crap the second he plays a good defensive team and defending when he has wemby guarding the paint what a time to be in this league for my man sand castle
What’s misinformation? Regular season he shot 39.4% from 3. When >50% of your shots are from 3 and you can’t get a rhythm it’s hard to be consistent…I also think playing with a generational talent such as Wemby makes things easier. my entire point is you cannot compare apples to oranges. Castle is playing great and in my opinion a much better situation. If you don’t think Reed would look like a much better player on the Spurs (in comparison to him on the Rockets) we will have to agree to disagree
Speaking of 30 for 30, if ESPN does a 50 for 50 documentary series hopefully it won’t feature Castle and Sheppard as a tale of 2 teams.
Agreed, not sure who said Harper is not impressive lol he’s a better prospect than both Castle and Reed. Dude is very impressive for his age.
Do you have evidence that this is happening? I don’t get why Rockets fans keep admiring the coaching of OKC and the Spurs especially when they have generational talent. Udoka didn’t draft Sengun. But he did take the job and accepted the talent given to him. He designed a system around Sengun based on his strengths. He worked with what he had. Unfortunately the team plays this way due to their roster with limited range and inconsistent shooting. We still have beaten the top teams and competed and we are close, and need a few adjustments. Jaylen Brown and Tatum both vouched for Udoka. Current Rockets players love him. All the people that hate him and say that he’s low IQ or stupid are fans that never played the game or coached so it means nothing. People keep talking about development but have no idea what that means. No one talks about the film session immediately after game 3 when Sheppard and Smith lost the game for us. That was great coaching. Accountability. Direct. Let’s stop bashing our team and coach. from jaylen brown: “I think Ime was great for us because we were kind of used to playing in Brad’s system and Ime, when he came about, he made the system kind of around us,” Brown said. “It was like, see a play, make a play and he kind of designed everything around what we did and do best and he kind of empowered us to make more decisions, stuff like that, so it was great for our development and things like that because we were used to Brad, who would kind of think the game for you. Brown went on to explain the differences between Brad Stevens and Udoka. “Brad would prepare, make sure, he would call the plays, Ime was more like, figure it out, empowered us to go play, go hoop and be who we are, and it was different for us,” Brown said. “It definitely helped us grow as basketball players, and even now with Joe, he’s expanded on that as well. He’s like a combination of the two, where it’s like he’s empowering us but also we have to be the smarter, more prepared team. So, every coach has different styles but Ime was definitely a part of our development.” https://www.masslive.com/celtics/20...s-on-ime-udokas-unique-impact-on-celtics.html
Sheppard shot in playoffs: 27% 5-18 on open shots defender 4-6 ft 34% 10-29 wide open shots defender greater than 6ft reg season 32% 63-197 open shots def 4-6ft no he likely would not fare any better with Wemby.
are you saying this after those 30 NBA GMs saw Castle play upto now? or at the time of the draft just knowing about their college careers stats and performance 30 GMs would have still taken Castle at 3rd pick over Reed and everyone else
my bad French. Doesn’t change the context of what im saying. Stop being a little bi+ch. instead how about you discuss something substantive relative to my post.
