Ariza should return his salary based on his game 7 performance vs the Warriors He looked like Jeremy Lin out there @Os Trigonum @Snow Villiers @raining threes
He is a billionaire, he stole from the PPO program during covid took huge loans never paid his employees etc..etc..etc... The guy is basically a crook.... DD
What exactly did Trevor Ariza do after another team paid him? Why do you people always act like Ariza was the one who got away? 12 pts 33% 3 pt omg what a diff maker
The PPO should have never been offered to billion dollar companies. It was supposedly set up to save small business, but like every other government program was fraught with fraud. PPO was intended for companies to be able to retain their employees during times when government was forcing businesses to shut down by overburdening regulation. It worked for small businesses like mine (I’m talking about the first PPO, not the second one which was an absolutely done for political purposes). How do you know Tito didn’t use the money to pay his employees in 2020? Are you saying his companies (especially his restaurants and casinos) were not tremendously affected by the pandemic? The PPO was not set up as a pass through that all the funds would go directly to employees. Each dollar was supposed to be accounted for by legitimate and recorded business costs that were written into the tax code. Who knows which companies were within the law and which one’s gamed the system? It’s up to the IRS to find the fraudsters.
The question should be, how bad is Tilman. And the answer is indisputably - incredibly bad. The answer is even worse if the question is about Lil Patty in the GM position many people think Stone is in.
This one was a joke bro. The Ariza contract has been the biggest "Tilman is cheap" argument for years. I don't think being cheap is really his issue.
Tilman isnt really cheap, he just isnt highly analytical. The types of businesses he has been successful in have been businesses that are capital intensive, at times it takes some balls to get through (always levered in these industries) you don't need to be a genius to be where he is, you need a head start, some luck, connections, and willingness to take on risk (a lot of debt). He would be a good owner in NYC or LA, but in a market like Houston you need to be smart, same with OKC, SA, etc, you cant just spend, and the league doesn't give you gifts. Tilman often buys businesses and leaves the management as is, he is planning to do that w the Caesars acquisition, not sure how that will work out for him, but historically the businesses he has had were not complex, you didn't really need to hire a genius to run it. I think the issue is he does not know how to hire for an NBA front office hes never had to think through this process before, or anything like it. The NBA is very competitive, the analytics teams are fairly advanced. Im not sure what rules changed that allowed an owner to own sportsbooks, maybe all of the casinos he owns the sportsbook is outsourced? If not, it would be nice to share the analytics with our front office, because we seem very behind and we can now see as a group they have made a lot of major mistakes with talent eval. You would think a guy who has all of the connections within sports betting and bookmaking, they would know how to recruit guys for a front office better. Then again it didn't really quite work out when Haralabos "Bob" Voulgaris joined the Mavs, he did not last long in the NBA, so maybe there is no overlap in talent across these industries, but as an outsider you would think the team has some sort of advantage somewhere. It can't just be that he has a Rolls dealership and can give players discounted leases.
