crazy. My friend was their events/taproom manager there for a while before leaving to go to St. Arnold's. He told me they just reached out to him a few weeks ago about possibly coming back. Good thing he didn't...
Drop of the Creator is a new distillery in Meyerland. Do spirits and have a cocktail bar (ahem, "tasting room"), and I know they make beer too though they don't bottle it. But you can visit the bar and try their beers there.
Story about declining craft breweries popped up in my news feed. They’re absolutely watching. The gist is a decline in drinking lead by Gen-Z, and yo-yoing trade policies are negatively impacting supply costs and supply consistency. These are small business owners who are getting burned out with struggling so they close up shop. https://www.mprnews.org/story/2026/...e-as-craft-beer-industry-continues-to-decline
We went this route, I preferred Great Heights drink selection, but we both liked Walking Stick's atmosphere. Ended up taking him to Rainbow Lodge afterwards for Chicken Fried Veal. Paddleboarding the Bayou tomorrow morning!
Here's a little something fun from the wine industry: The last few years have seemingly broadcast a tidal wave of woe for the American wine industry, from President Donald Trump’s tariffs—and the legal battles over them—to trade wars, ICE raids, and the impact of Ozempic. Despite the annual Silicon Valley Bank State of the Wine Industry report suggesting “the worst is behind us,” the U.S. wine industry is still grappling with declining consumption, inflation, anti-alcohol messaging, competition from other beverages, and an oversupply of grapes and wine. https://daily.sevenfifty.com/the-story-behind-the-american-wine-crisis/ [full disclosure: this article is from a trade group] I'll ask my Cali winery people if they have a trusted info source.
