Jalen was given ever possible opportunity to succeed and still failed. Reed just started getting the playing time he should of got his first year this past year. Reed will be fine with experience. Give him the same time we gave Jalen before making stupid comparisons. He will be just fine and will likely turn out to be the best person from his draft class when it is all said and done.

If they are indeed open to trading him especially with having to pay Mitchell more and resign harden ....and their biggest needs are wings we should look to try and get mobley to compete with spurs and thunder. I think Sengun/Mobley could really give wemby fits on offense a defense

Cavs need wings that can shoot and defend the most...maybe we can do a 3 team trade with nuggets get the tar in a SNT and Johnson (plus picks) and DFS expiring and upside plus picks to the nuggets and we get mobley?

The NBA changes the rules in the playoffs to allow more hand checking, grabbing, etc. The playoff rules have always been unevenly enforced, favoring stars or sometimes full teams in order to manipulate outcomes. The GSW/Rocket series and the Yao experience (that has even been proven) are prime examples. Yes, those are fouls on Castle, but the rules are being selectively enforced. SGA is the league MVP and partly because of his acting ability. I don’t blame him any more than I blame Harden in the regular season when he was going to the free throw line an absurd amount of times. What is aggravating is how the NBA changes the rules selectively in the playoffs. At least in Harden’s prime, it was much more of a factor in his failures than “choking”.

You didn't include Jalen Green over Scottie Barnes as an option either. We missed on two all-stars, a DPOY, ROTY, and all-NBA players for Jalen Green.

A miss of that magnitude really sets you back.

Castle was already clearly ahead of Reed before the draft — better experience, better physical tools, higher upside, and pretty much everything else. Reed was mostly a bench player in college. No GM would realistically take Reed over Castle, Edey, or Clingan if the scouting reports were completely honest.

Jalen, though, genuinely had superstar potential. It just didn’t work out that way. That happens sometimes.

In terms of talent - perhaps Green over Mobley was a bigger miss.
But in terms of style of game - Castle would have feet much better to Ime’s system than Reed, and we could have probably get much more useful minutes from him, due to Ime’s trust. Reed is great, but Ime cannot extract his full potential.
I understand that choosing Reed was aimed to help us with our poor shooting, but one player cannot fix our shooting problem. On the other hand, Castle hustle and energy would fit perfectly in our system, especially this season with Fred out of the picture.
Having both Castle and Amen in our lineup would have been a nightmare to our opponents.

Misread at first. Tari can’t be aggregated in a sign-and-trade scenario. Unless Denver wants KD, we aren’t a good trade partner for Denver.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Green over Mobley wasn't that big of a miss? Mobley hasn't improved much either. And somehow he has a reputation for being a shooter when he shot 29% from 3 last season. I don't get it.

To me, it's Green over Scottie Barnes. That said, Scottie Barnes and Amen would be hellish to watch on offense. Especially if Sengun is on the floor too. We would have far and away the worst spacing in the league. And if we had picked Barnes, that would be even more reason to go Reed over Castle. Because Castle was viewed as a non-shooter in the draft and even though his shooting has improved, he still only shot 33% from 3 this season. Still, at this point I would bet on that number improving. But you have to wonder if it would have improved the same way if he were on the Rockets. We don't seem to develop shooters the way San Antonio has historically.

God. Imagine a lineup with Sengun, Barnes, Amen and Castle in Houston with nobody to help them improve their shooting. Would it be the worst offense in the NBA? It would certainly have the most clogged paint.
