It’s like people forgot when the Rockets played the Cavs and Sengun dominated both Mobley and Allen. They had no answer for him.

Evan Mobley is basically the center version of Amen Thompson minus athleticism, free throw shooting ability, offensive acumen in any capacity, motor or nose for the ball.

Oh yeah. And a paralyzing contract. Trading Sengun for him would be insane.

He’s not a 5. Why do you think Cavs paired him with Allen? He’s the same size as Jabari.

They’re undervaluing Sengun and overvaluing Mobley. Really don’t get the Mobley obsession by Rocket fans. It’s really weird to me. And news flash for these people: he’s not a center

If you think he can play center and that his 3p regression is just a blip, he could be the right kind of center complement to an Amen-oriented team.

I don't see why.... He can't create for himself and so the many problem is still there.

No effing way. We already have the best center from that draft. This would be an extremely stupid trade but not as stupid as all the Giannis talk. Bring in a coach who knows how to coach both sides of the ball and get rid of the cancerous Dickerson and the Rockets will "lift off". We were #2 in the West the prior year with a coach who can't spell offense and also prior to acquiring the cancer.

He's shooting 30 percent from 3 for his career. He shot 29 percent last season. Where are you getting that he can stick it from deep?

Sengun shot 30.5 percent from 3 this past season. So he was technically a better outside shooter than Mobley - though Mobley averaged 3.2 attempts per game, vs Sengun's 1.8.

If Mobley could truly shoot the 3, I'd agree with trading him for Mobley too. But Mobley really can't do that. So you're trading for a guy with a worse PER and worse win shares, who makes WAY more money.

Mobley has been a disappointment. He just hasn't developed the way people expected he would when he got that big contract.

Pairing him with Allen has limited his game, and his numbers.
We open it up for the guards (watch Reed's game blossom), on the offensive end. And, Mobley/Jabari man the interior and perimeter on D. Flexible/Deadly
Mobes provides the eraser we need...and much more.

The shot's improving. He can shoot from the corners.

Also, when he puts his mind to it, he's formidable on the blocks.
The touch in the midrange is coming.

Folks knock the 50/yr, but with what he already brings on the defensive end plus what's unfolding on the other side...as well as the rise in the cap.
That number will look just fine in a couple years.

"When he puts his mind to it"

If you ever have to say this about a player....that's an instant no.

Mobley's contract increases as a percentage of the cap from 30% to 32%.

I think Mobley is the guy you go for once you've established your franchise player. He's been getting fed from Garland, Mitchell, and Harden his entire career, gonna be a big change if he's on the Rockets.

Yes, would i give up Jabari, matching salary and a pick for Mobley? Then Mobley, Goon, Amen, Durant, Fred? Still not beating the Spurs or OKC, but a punches chance maybe

How would you pay all those guys? Mobley makes more than KD.

All the people who want Mobley just look at a player without considering salary cap implications.
