Your statement is incorrect. A government employee should not have more protection than a private employee. There was a time when government employees were held to a much higher standard and would be removed for actions like infidelity.

That said, Browns comments were not justification to be fired, at least by todays standards (which is little to no standards).

That's not more protection. Both the employee of a private company and the employee of the federal government are protected from government retaliation for the exercise of their rights. You are mistaking differences in exposure to risk for differences in protections.

So, now you are in favor of big government and socialist democracies?

I don't know how you got to that from my statement. The 1st Amendment protects people from state action for speech. Therefor, the government cannot punish someone for their speech (unless it falls into one of the limited exceptions to free speech, like criminal threats or fraud). Limiting the government's ability to punish people is not big government, it is the opposite. Allowing private actors to fire people for speech is supportive of Capitalism, not Socialism. Somehow you attributed to me the exact opposite of the point I was making.
JuanValdez already covered this well. The issue is the limitation on the powers of the government, not the protections afforded to government employees. Hence my reference to the 1st Amendment.

I completely agree. Government employees should not have been fired for refusing the vaccine. And private employers should also be sued.
