I wish they hired you, or someone like you, to devise these rules. Great job.

I wish top-3 or top whatever protections were banned from draft pick trades.

Yea but the bottom few teams have been tanking forever and they have a natural penalty in that they really suck.

The new development in tanking is the teams that just dip their toe in to tank when they otherwise have a veteran team.

The Nets continuing to suck is not impacting viewership and the fan experience at a national level. The Bucks sitting Giannis when he's healthy absolutely has a major impact. In this new system, teams like the Bucks have greater incentive to tank for better positioning.

If your first statement is true, the bottom few teams should have stopped tanking years ago because it rarely works. The new system removes their fantasy dream of becoming "rich" by pouring their money into lottery "tickets".

I'm not disagreeing with that. I'm saying that's been happening as long as the draft lottery has existed and so it's not really a problem.

The problem (that became an eye soar this season) is that 2nd group of veteran laden teams trying to move up in the draft by sitting stars. Those are the matchups that were booked as marquee national tv games and it angers fans when the stars aren't in the game. No one outside of NYC is keeping up with the Nets but people do want to see Giannis compete.

Keep it the way it was. When was the last time the worst team even got the number 1 pick?

The "3-2-1 lottery" is named to represent the number of lottery balls per team. Teams with a bottom-three record -- the relegation area -- have only two lottery balls. Teams that do not qualify for the playoffs or play-in tournament in spots four through 10 receive three lottery balls each.

The Nos. 9 and 10 play-in seeds in each conference receive two lottery balls each, and the losers of the 7-8 play-in games receive one lottery ball each. All 16 teams will in the drawing.

No will be able to win the No. 1 in consecutive years or be able to win three consecutive top-five picks.

The NBA's Board of Governors vote passed 29-1 -- with the Memphis Grizzlies as the lone vote against the new anti-tanking lottery reform, sources tell ESPN.

I love they are trying this new lottery system. The whining and moaning about it on Twitter make me laugh. So typical. It reminds me of trained animals reacting on cue.

Let's wait 4-5 years and see how things work out before declaring it a crime against basketball.

If the newest proposal stands I'd rather see the lottery completely gone. We might as well let new players decide where they want to play. A recruitment system similar to college.

    It's so gross.
