I would say soft re-tool, take a step back moreso than full rebuild. Stay in the playoff conversation but continue to maximize draft capital. Get players who are still good, but younger and fit the timeline, instead of continuing to throw good money after bad on aging stars who are unlikely to be healthy come playoff time.
I agree they should look at young solid players or potential stars etc. but players like Giannis aren’t always available. It’s rare you get someone of this magnitude. This is elite generational level talent. We don’t know whether he will be injured in the playoffs but that’s a gamble i think is worth it. He’s still relatively young and playing at a high level. i feel the same about Kawhi. If the price is right for a deal you take it. This isn’t the time for playing with second of third tier players. To build a true contender you need to bring in championship players.
