Playmaking/scorer type player, ideally with downhill ability, someone like Coby White or Quentin Grimes. We played too many lineups with 3-4 defensive wings, relying on just 1 or 2 players on the court to create all the offense. Amen would fit that mold except he doesn't shoot well enough to put pressure on defenses. Reed in that role improved our offense though his defense is shaky and doesn't have great burst. I think JD Davison should've gotten more minutes over Holiday to play that role. Of course, Jalen Green was in that role but he proved to be too inefficient and inconsistent. In general, we need more dynamic playmakers to make our offense less predictable, since it's just too easy for teams to defend us right now

    • A good coach or at least a knockout offensive assistant. This isn’t the 80s/90s- you can’t win on just lights out defense anymore.
    • Get Sengun and Amen in the gym shooting 1k shots a day.
    • A real point guard.
    • A muzzle for Alpy for when he wants to futbol-style b**** at refs after each touch from his defender. This ain’t soccer, bruh.
    • Take away KG’s access to social media and get him a good woman to complain to.

Who are our Untouchables? Do we have any?
I think Amen JAbari and Sengun are the closest to untouchable
but I really think Amen is the only one that truly is
But if he does not improve this off season he will be on the trading block next year
    \
I think it is too early to give up on Jabari. I would not trade him unless it was a slam dunk
    Same for Sengun
Give Reed another year to mature

I think the rest or fairly easy to let go of. . .

Murray is a career 33% 3 pt shooter. Lights out. LOL Now if you say Trey Murphy III and Looney for Sengun and one of our own frp’s, sign me up.

Maybe we should just fire Ime, sign-and-trade for LeBron, and basically let him run the entire organization. Hell, promise to sell him 51% ownership stake when he retires.

Evan Mobley + Donovan Mitchell + Jaylon Tyson (via TPE) + Myles Turner to Houston
    Jabari +Sengun + Sam Merril+ DFS + 3 FRP (2 via Houston, 1 Via Cleveland) to Milwaukee
KD + Giannis + Capela to Cleveland

so Houston trades KD, Sengun, Jabari, Capela, DFS and 2 Picks and get a younger star in Mitchell, a floor spacer in Turner and a second team breakout candidate in Mobley. As well as a scratcher on Jaylon Tyson. It's a complete rehaul.

    works financially.

Seems to be 2 common things I hear.

Reed/Sengun don't work together because of defense
Amen/Sengun don't work together because of spacing

Mitchell/Mobley aren't lights out shooters but they are a step ahead of Sengun
Turner provides real spacing. This team would need a few additions in the front court, but honestly could be a fun competitive team.

Cavs become THE FAVORITE in the East.

Milwaukee get the haul they want for Giannis and gets off of Turner who clearly just talked his way out of town.

    FVV/Reed
    Mitchell / Tyson
    Amen/Tari
    Mobley
    Turner

Alternatively you could remove the Jabari /Turner part of it. Probably would need to send Sheppard to Milwaukee and remove a first in that instance.

    FVV
    Mitchell/Tyson
    Amen/Tari
    Jabari
    Mobley

I know I probably get bashed for this, but I would take Ja Morant or Kyrie Irving over FVV...we just need a legitimate point guard who can beat the traps.
Watching the Spurs in the playoffs and how dominant their guards are on defense especially the full court press and traps, proves we need a more dynamic, athletic point guard to set up our offense.
    FVV was already regressing pre-injury.
Reed can't handle a double team, traps, or full court press.
I'm not ready to break up our core, but we need to move on from FVV, Steven Adams, and DFS even if we need to attach some future draft picks to get them off the roster we'll have to make it happen!

I would trade Sengun and Reed for Ja and the no. 3 pick, but I doubt Memphis wants to get off Ja enough to do it even if we added a frp. Having Ja for 2 years while OKC and SA battle it out is a small price to pay for Boozer or Peterson.

I could be down with that. I think Ja may respect Durant enough to put on his game face. . . .but I wouldn't hold my breath.

We wouldn't need to trade Sengun to get Ja Morant ($42)
    This trade should be suffice:
FVV/Reed/Capela/2nd round picks/Rockets FRP and Mavs FRP for Ja Morant/Walter Clayton
We get our starting point guard in Ja Morant and a solid prospect in Walter Clayton
The Grizzlies get a solid prospect in Reed and a couple of future FRPs.
If we keep KD, we're in win-now mode...can't just wait around for Reed and hope he learns how to beat a double team/trap/full court press...

You're overvaluing Ty Jerome...I would rather trade for Trey Murphy

How do we turn Sengun into drafting Ada Mara this year? Hornets 14 & 18 with another move to trade up maybe?

Would be a nice big man for a soft retooling to get if possible

Okay we get younger by trading way assets. Now what? Things that don’t / didn’t work well is drafting teenagers and not developing them by improving their skills. Understanding the basics of generational differences and providing a framework of growth not just personally but in basketball aspects. Instead of paying kids crazy wages that are inconceivable—> multi millions over multi years. (Remember their prospective sub 20 years old. 4 years is 1/5 of their entire life. Each year is like winning the state lottery over again and again. Lifetime achievement with little life experience - this is their home life). Their work life is Ime blaming them for everything that happens. Most of which they don’t even understand. An old man that is cramming round pegs into square holes and pissed because it worked before they were even born. YES more of this please because it effective. The problem is larger than Ime. We need a bigger staff dedicated to the development of younger players. We need teachers teaching them the basics and not only the how but the why and when.

real talk… how do you think Ime comes across to them on the daily?

    1. Rockets need a DOG, or a leader.
    2. Rockets need a creator off the bounce, someone that can get anywhere on the floor and can finish and pass
    3. Rockets need a better coach
    4. Rockets need a lob threat at Center
    5. Rox need Sengun to take 3pt shots seriously
    6. Rox need Reed to develop his handles
    7. Rox need Amen to develop his shot.
    8. Rox need to trade that b**** KD.

any player outside of this top 3 who makes 2 allstar games in their career is a HOME RUN pick.

Can we please ****ing stop trying to throw away the 23 year old two time all star for less than a blue chip asset.

You are asking for Aday Mara, a 21 year old center who projects to be a good role player. Is he going to make take 2 allstar games this and next season? Because then he'd be caught up with Alperen by age 23. Aday Mara's ceiling is Sengun's reality. Mara is heavy footed and a pure drop coverage type of big. In an NBA that is dominated by bigs who can guard the perimeter you are once again stuck with a big you need to scheme around on one side of the ball and he limits the pace you can play with.

I get that Alperen's not perfect but FFS. You trade him in a package for a superstar or a top 3 pick in this draft (top 4 if Peterson or Boozer drop to the Bulls)

Absolutely correct. Mara is a stiff.
