Like many here, I'm a Native Houstonian...actually in my 60's now. I've been a fan of the Astros, Rockets, Coogs, Oilers, original Aeros, Texans...etc. etc...forever. We've lived and died with our teams over the years. Maybe it's not as intense for some as they get older, but there are later generations that deserve the best. When life gets tough our sports teams give us something to feel good about. And, of course, great teams bring our city together. You've been fantastic for UH.... Take care of our Rockets.
well, stated, young fella. I had a dear uncle, born, bred and forever a NY sports fan. His honest devotion to his city’s teams was strong. When I was in town i often watched games with him or just talked sports. Always supportive despite rooting otherwise. Sports is that consequential and team owners must accept their civic responsibilities to their locale and base. Remember Mr McMullin? I don’t want to, either.
