Amen Thompson to miss All-Defensive teams (Ausar 1st D team)

thats wrong that Amen was omitted... but im sure it will light a fire under him for next year... so there's that...

 

Ridiculous. As usual, the all defensive teams leave deserving guys off.

 

He just wasn't that good this year defensively. Fans will be angry, some will call me names, but it is what it is.

 

Not terribly surprising, he wasted a lot of effort pretending to be a guard and it took away from his defense.

 

Good defender with no jump shot. Not worth $40M

 

OG and Barnes overrated. These awards are biased anyway and in no means a reflection of true ability and performance.

 

I like it. The last thing we need is for the media to praise him for a mediocre effort and end up taking the cap hit on his next contract.

 

Nice to see Jabari get a vote though.

 

Had him playing zone for far too much of the season when he's best locked and on ball. Really felt that didn't help him much there.

 

This. His shooting may or may not come. But regardless, he can’t lose his calling card, which is his defense. And he hasn’t been all that great on defense this year.

 

Amen’s D was much better over the 2nd half of the season than the 1st half. I think his responsibilities offensively took away from his defensive intensity.

 

Hopefully this is leverage to get him at a discount and pay him less.
