Not unless there was some sort of illegal prosecution (vindictive prosecution, blatantly false charges not supported by any evidence, etc.). There could be many reasons someone is found not guilty (the jurors actually don't believe the prosecution has proved the case is one of them, but not the only one). For example, one of the jurors in the OJ case said they acquitted him as revenge for Rodney King.

He fired a single round at one person, not at a mob. That one person didn't represent an imminent threat of death or great bodily injury to anyone, and there was a SWAT team in the same room as the mob that didn't seem to think her actions or the mob's actions required any action, let alone lethal force. No, it is an entirely good faith argument, and it is factually accurate and based on the well-established laws regarding self-defense.

Per reporting at the time, it hit him hard enough to cause injury and he was treated at the hospital. Doesn't seem like he was "barely tapped" at "half a mile per hour"

Obvious nonsense, he slowly circled a stationary vehicle, and when he was in front of the vehicle, the driver put it in gear and accelerated, moving the vehicle in the direction he was standing. A vehicle accelerating toward you (in this case, in fact hitting him), creates a reasonable apprehension of imminent death or great bodily injury. This is the standard to respond with deadly force. There are MANY cases on point, including other cases where an officer is in front of the vehicle, the driver accelerates, and the officer responds with deadly force, often without the vehicle touching or even getting within several feet. Here are two just from my city:


In both cases, the officers were not struck by the vehicle, they managed to get out of the way, and the shootings were ruled justified. You just aren't allowed to drive your car toward and officer, and if you do, they are allowed to shoot you.

I have seen the videos. What I don't have is whether there was a discharge of the suspects firearm after it was taken from him (it appears there may have been, as the slide is back and there is what looks like a bullet strike on the ground), what the officers who fired were able to see and what they heard, and if and how those two unknowns interact. As I said, based on what I have seen, it doesn't look like a justified shooting, but there is more I would like to know before making a determination. Also, I whack off to The Fountainhead. Atlas Shrugged is way too long for that.
