I think it was just a leg DVT, which is not uncommon at all especially for people taking constant flights. Obviously we don't know what the spurs team does

The new anti-tanking rules actually set us up perfectly for next year should we choose to get rid of KD. Even if we are close to a play in team with the remaining players, 3 shots at the top pick should be enticing. Trade KD and FVV. Go to war with those players and see what happens. Maybe Sengun and others play really well and increase their trade value.

Agreed. And we’re running out of valuable draft capital, and I’m not sure that the current FO is well equipped (mentally, tactically) to do anything with it.

Chet stepping on his foot was a strategy. We know from experience (Yao) about big guys and those pesky Lis Franc injuries. Once the feet go, they’re toast.

I thought it was on his shoulder.

Leg blood clot was Hakeem back in 1989

2026 Draft is perfect for the Rockets to set back the Timeline since Victor vs Shai will battle for 3 - 4 seasons at least. Rockets must move up in this year's Draft and find a Franchise scoring Guard that can takeover games in scoring and passing.

Victor knee injury, foot surgeries, blood clot. He has a shorter timeline similar to Ralph Sampson.

It looks like it will be a Lost Decade.

The ineptness was already visible several years ago with the failures of TyTy Washington Jr., Josh Christopher, and Usman Garuba.

I have no faith that those responsible for the bumbling will suddenly get Wisdom and start doing great things going forward.

I've been wondering if the best approach should be to spend the next 5 years building individual assets and then trading them for future 1st round picks in the '30s.

Each year, showcase a different player to elevate/inflate their value, and then trade for far out future 1sts.

Hopefully the scouting dept is adept enough to identify which drafts have the best chance at offering generational talent, and then we try to stockpile picks in those drafts.

After we find out about the potential lottery changes in 2027, I'd be willing to trade those 2027 1sts for future 1sts.

We need to build player value and slowly sell them off over the next 2-3 years at peak values, then start the rebuild in the '29-30 range, develop/draft through '33 and contend in '34-35.

So for me, the best GM we can hire should be someone who can identify/develop/showcase talent, and then trade them for top dollar.

We could basically be a farm team for the contenders at each trade deadline... everyone's for sale, take your pick, but you're going to overpay to get them.

Does it have to be for Jabari? I like the idea of acquiring Trey, but I'd rather give up Tari in a SnT, Reed, or maybe even Sengun.

The '94 Rockets core played 5-7 years together, starting in older ages than the current '26 young core. Before they broke through. Some years not even making the playoffs. That's with the Pistons & Bulls reign.

The main difference then was changing to Rudy T as coach. And getting good supporting players, Elie Horry Cassell. That's even with an ownership change.

Yes different era then, and yes the big luxury of having Hakeem to build around. But no real need to overreact and tear everything down.

Yep. The fundamental problem is the lack of a generational (young) guy. (Even if you have one (à la Cade for instance), how do you solve the Wemby problem? But that’s a good, derivatives problem to have.)

It’s moot to talk about coaching, doing good gm-ing around the edges etc without THE guy. Even if your strategy is to win by committee, you at least need a serviceable top 10 / 15 guy to mess around.

We simply don’t have that guy. Forget about everything else until there is a clear path towards getting that player.

Lol, it is a deeper problem.

Victor vs Shai for the next 7 years is a money maker.

resigning myself to the fact that Stone and Ime are probably not gonna do a soft reset, and are highly likely to do everything they can to get to the 2nd round as a proxy for keeping their jobs, all I ask is:

don’t trade away any of the young pieces unless you are getting a good young piece in return…

    and

don’t trade away any draft picks unless you are getting a good young piece in return

    please!
