I have heard Sparks talk about it and they all know what’s going on. His lower half is getting out in front of everything. He’s not delivering the pitch out of his hand in sync with his lower body. He’s been working on it and looks improved in sessions but gets out there and is thinking too much so Abreu isn’t kidding when he says it’s mental.
took astros 50 games to get 20th win oof all this trash and slop astros baseball and only 4gms out of the division. holy balls this division is straight hot dog water.
Astros need more positive surprises. They needed every one of those 0 runs allowed. Alexander's ERA is now lower than Imai's -- and both are sub-NINE !!! .
Brian King looked pissed when taken out, looked pissed when Abreu closed the door. I love how Space City cameramen and tech crew in-studio focused on King after getting taken out, not enough drama?!?!?!? Losing velocity on Abreu?!?!?!?! He is still striking out 1.4 batters per inning at the current rate is his 2nd best in his career, last year was his best at 1.47.
A few observations, the Twins home unis are clean and dam for the second straight night that park seemed empty, maybe cause its cold but dam that was a sparse crowd..................glad rocketsjudo got to see the Stros win and got dollar dogs. Oh yea, That Astros win and Yordan looks like he is in a slump and Abreau sucks, but hey Jake Meyers is back and Lance looks like he is officially done
K/9 isn't a great way to look at it when walks are up as much as his. His K% and whiff rate are down a noticeable amount from where he's been the last 4 seasons. Even going well Abreu gave up a good amount walks and fairly hard contact. He's not exactly a precision pitcher, he's needs them K's.
I got hot dogs for a dollar at an MLB park and got to see someone hit by a guitar. It was a win already.
This is what you want. You want players to want the ball in big moments. People were saying it was going to be a chemistry issue that Walker said he wanted to be the everyday 1B too. You want everyone to want to play. In the end, the manager's job is to try to do what they think is right for the team, not the player.
If a pitcher isn't pissed when getting pulled (unless he's gassed, mutually agreed exit) then I don't like that pitcher
Just for the record, and I thought this was obvious, nobody was saying it’s a bad thing that King was pissed. It was clearly just an observation that he looked more pissed than he normally does, when being removed last night. It seemed as if he was pissed at the manager, rather than himself, which makes the situation a little different and, perhaps worth mentioning. It was at least a questionable choice to bring in Abreu for the last out. Abreu has been the opposite of automatic this season. But yeah, players should be competitive….duh
Too early to challenge.. smh. Strike 2 was clearly ball 4 for Paredes. He flied out. No runner advancement. Eta: leadoff bloop single. Runner never sees 2B.
