This is theft of US taxpayer money. Money the US Attorney, under Trump's control, can give out as they see fit. If this is to give out to J6 criminals or anyone else for that matter, that's theft. If any J6 criminals sue the US, they will be laughed out of court, but the DOJ under Trump can, and likely will, pay out to them.

 

Im not saying the US has a great or even functional democracy, just that the people you are agitated with are participating in democracy.

Why would you wish this on anybody, I certainly dont wish this on you just because we have political differences. I guess this says more about your character than anything else. Since you're doing so well under the Tump run govt and dont like it, maybe you could give the extra money you've earned to the homeless or kids with cancer etc... so that you dont feel so unworthy under the Trump govt. The nearly $2 Billion is going into an "account" that we won't know about. Zero oversight. It's managed by the DoJ, I believe (it's not clear if the DoJ OIG even has oversight). There is a commission that deals with the "request" for the fund. The commission is chosen by the AG. The AG is a puppet of Trump.

Anyhow, the DoJ is essentially now Trump's personal law firm and prosecution hand.

If THIS is what MAGA really want, then you know what the super anti-MAGA want as well. They will want the next DEM POTUS to use the DOJ to go after every MAGA member. And to create a billion dollar plus slush fund to pay out to anyone the DEM POTUS wants to. I'm sure all the MAGA members are perfectly fine with this.

 

Maybe it will be used for maintenance of the Qatar Trump plane.

The funny thing is that Trump and his children have each made at least ten fold the amount Hunter got from art work, Burisma and whatever.

That was a huge deal to some. They now seem to be okay with using government position to make money. Trump even goes out and praises companies he's just invested in which could influence their stock.

His sons are making money through DoD deals. It's all quite blatant. But somehow the MAGA people are okay with that.

Wrong. Doj oig has no oversight and the AG doesn't choose the board members who get to control who gets what $$. The WH single handily chooses who sits on the board and they can be removed only by the president at any time he wishes with no cause. The board also doesn't have to report who they're giving money too and how much

1- When did I said DoJ OIG has oversight? I said I don't even know if they do.

2- The AG appoints all members. It's documented in the settlement agreement. You can look it up at the DoJ website.

Page2, Section IV.B: "The Anti-Weaponization Fund shall consist of five Members. Within 30 days of the Effective Date, the Attorney General shall issue an order appointing the Members, including the Chair of The Anti-Weaponization Fund"

As if #2 means anything toward being less corrupt, lol.

 

From what I read the president has veto power of any appointments and can remove anyone he wishes for any cause.

 

That's a given with this admin, so of course he does, but the AG appoints the members.

How very convenient that as part of the $1.8B settlement, United States also agrees to never prosecute or pursue Trump, Trump's family, anyone affiliated with Trump, trusts, businesses, subsidiaries, or affiliates for all matters currently pending or could be pending. This applies to all agencies and departments.

So it's a complete amnesty of anyone or companies that even remotely related to Trump.
