Yes - he should have passed it, but I have seen way worse.

Honestly that pass from Castle setting up SGA's break was worse...

Just not a fair comparison. Wemby is the best player in the world at this point, or at worst in the top 2. Sengun isn't in the top 35 players in the league. Sengun is a good player, just can't compare him to whatever the hell that French monster is.

It's sobering watching these two teams and knowing that there's nothing we can do to compete with them as presently constructed. We don't have a James Harden level player on our roster to build around challenge an ascendent San Antonio like we did with Golden State. San Antonio is absurdly lucky to fall into him and Tim Duncan. But, I'm just player-hating at this point.

If Wemby pulls this off he'll be a legend and he's only 22. I'm skeptical that he can remain healthy over the long term because the track record for guys built like him is almost uniformly bad.

Doesn’t even matter about any of it. Take anyone at their peak versus this guy who hasn’t even reached his prime. Who would you take? The thunder are soo scared of him. If only we could pay to watch prime Jordan or LeBron play 1 on 1 against him because I don’t think they could score.

he is already hands down the greatest defensive player we’ve ever seen.

This spurs team has no business being this good. If he wins a ring at 22 with this squad it’s the greatest championship ever,

As far as the face of the league. I see it. He answers questions uniquely, with honesty, and with a brain, but is careful not to step too badly on toes. The media is gonna like it. That’s half of it. Louis Vuitton has him at head of fashion and style. On the Court he has more work to do so that he is more graceful on offense, but he is already producing at star level, is motivated which is what everyone wants to see, moves the needle on both ends, and has highlight moments. Even more important, had his first playoff moment with that three. An unconscious tre’ with no regret. All he needs is a title now and a more impactful commercial. The alien commercial is a good start, but his brand needs a little more impact. That will get done. It’s the title. But if you ask me if he’s on the path to be the face of the league. Yeah. And yes. He has everything.

I don’t agree with Windy that Wemby showed poise through the entire game. He was letting the Thunder dictate his catch point during the end game and they broke his will a bit, but in the end, he still mattered. And that says something.

It's astounding that a defending champion made this play. In years past, the Spurs, Heat, Warriors, Raptors, Nuggets and Celtics would have passed the ball. There is a lower tier of NBA Champion I guess?

We talk about championship windows because players want bigger roles sometimes and more money.

If all these players are forever happy with their roles and likely want to take pay cuts to play for the team, then yes, otherwise, every contract extension/FA is a risk some other team throws more money at a player and a bigger role to snatch them away. Its why we talk about core players and such because the complimentary players will change here and there.
