Germany preparing to build Europe’s strongest army

The tinmans of Deutschland have been on the rise, doubled their share of the vote in just a few years.
This September should be telling.

 

Honestly, this was all pretty predictable. "The Greatest Generation" were keeping the memory alive. In Germany, their counterparts the people who lost everything following Hitler are all dead, and they were keeping that memory alive.

They're gone and there's easentially nobody left who remembers Nazis first-hand.

Add to that the other authoritarianism - Communism in Europe has been gone for 30 years - all the kids really have no memory of anything but the tepid, slow, gridlock of Democracy.

The kids have never touched the stove, they don't know what it a 2rd degree burn feel like and they're all excited to try new things

The world is full of kids who've never experienced or known anybody who's experience the insane drstructiveness of jingoism and political extremism and they are all a little curious.

I would love to see a breakdown by state. 20 years ago there was a dispreportionate number of Saxons and other former East Germans who were drawn to these hard right ideologies.

We are going to try and collectively tear ourselves apart again in the West in the near future to re-learn lessons our grandparents and great-grandparents learned at great personal cost. Sometimes people can't learn from the experience of others. They just need to f around in order to find out for themselves.

We are approaching that point rapidly, and I don't think there's any way to avoid it, honestly.

 

This has been going on for century's. Why would anyone expect anything different?

 

Mass institutional slavery, burning strange women for being a "witch" , raping women who "asked for it" by showing too much skin for my masculinity to handle, and being able to beat your wife to the edge of death and it being just a family matter....

These are things that have been going on for the 50,000 years of the existence of Homo sapiens. Why should we ever try for anything better? Let's just all wallow in the pig **** like we've always done. Pig **** was good enough for grandpappy!

Hell, basic hygine and grooming measures like deoderant and regular showers were not commonplace until about 150 years ago or so. If nauseating BO everywhere was good enough for our ancestors, why should we expect any different!

 

lol i think you took my message way out of context. My point was that there has been war in these lands for centuries, not the causes or atrocities. I feel the same way about the middle east. If we gonna be honest, it was never about oil. or trade routes. Or it being the cradle of civilization. Strategic geographical locations that also have significant resource constraints will be at war. But ya can keep blaming republicans and democrats and christians and jews (the last two have some reasonable merit)
