Brown, White, Nikola Vucevic would be players you need if you lose those 2. Boston only one i see getting into trade like that.

Even then you would have to give them picks.

    Let’s trade with Minnesota

Durant / Capela for McDaniels, Reid & DiVincenzo works.

my understanding is that Minny would not include McDaniels when they tried to get KD last June. I see DiVincenzo as a high level role player. Not sure they would make Naz available. I am sure they have a higher value on Shannon Jr. than they did last summer. Their draft pick this yr is pretty late and they don’t have all their picks going forward. Their picks are likely to be late going forward given that AntMan is their franchise player. I’d probably want to get a 3rd team involved; I don’t like Minny’s trade assets.

Doesn’t work for Minnesota. Three important rotation players for Kd, especially Reid.

    • Durant has been exposed as a mini locker room cancer, whoever gets him wins some redundant Reg season wins.....
    • And then he goes out with an injury and is never heard of again.....giving up Naz for him......preposterous.
    • This exact thing happened to the Suns.......and they had the secondary Durant in Beal.

You do realize KD isn't really the problem, it's our young talent that doesn't mesh well when it counts. You could add any player in the NBA right now and we're not winning a ring. You could have prime Kobe on this team and we're not winning a ring. We don't need a fire sale but we do need some personnel changes to get this offense clicking.

Pretty much every team has several minimum guys on their rosters ... especially when the roster is heavily weighted on a couple stars. Even the Spurs have 4.

OKC is an outlier in that they have none because they had so many draft picks in recent years, they have players on rookie deals in the same price range instead of the minimum guys.

So few fans have a thorough understanding of the cap, makes for a lot of uninformed takes or impossible trade scenarios.

Good question - at the point they made that offer, KD's cap hit was $54.7m, it's only $43.9m now.

I wouldn't want Gobert's contract, I suspect that was the only way they could match at the larger number.

Maybe you can get Reid and DiVincenzo .... along with that #28 pick.

However toxic you think KD is, surely he's worth more than the Wolves' 5th and 6th best players, no? Plus a very late first?

I'm out if the offer doesn't include Jaden McDaniels and Ayo. Both are excellent shooters and fit the timeline of the rest of this roster. I'd pass on DiVincenzo.

they wouldn’t make McDaniels available last June when they were making offers for KD. They certainly aren’t gonna do it now. Yes to Ayo on a fair contract.

    I'd take Ayo, Reid, and 3 #1's.

From what I've heard, they have every intention of resigning Ayo. Shedding Reid and DiVincenzo gives them plenty of space to do it.

They wouldn't make McDaniels available before, I see no reason they would do so now.

Ant, Durant, Ayo, McDaniels and Gobert measure up to pretty much every starting 5 in the league ...

The prize for the Rockets is Naz .... we've been looking for a stretch 5 since the Harden / Howard days and still don't have one.
If you are keeping Amen, a stretch 5 is a must have, nonnegotiable.

Also makes Sengun tradable. Those two can't play together. You get to see Amen with the necessary spacing before you extend him.

DiVincenzo is a solid role player, has some value. Maybe you package him for a pick immediately or at the deadline.

I would rather just trade for bad contracts and good pick assets

Even if that were the case, Durant supposedly had only 3 teams on his list of teams he would've liked to be traded to from what I recall : Houston, San Antonio, and Miami. I don't think he had a no-trade clause, but I'm not sure how many teams decide they aren't quite as interested if Durant's not interested in going where you want to send him. And even if those teams still make an offer, I'm sure the offers would be reduced because "well, you know, we're not sure how happy he's going to be here since we're not on his list... so... 2 2nd round picks?" Only partly joking there... :D

Y’all gonna be sorely disappointed when Dickerson returns (and retires a Rocket :D)

And I guess everyone forgot DiVincenzo suffered a torn achilles. I mean, if you want his $12M expiring contract, sure I guess?

    Edwards, McDaniels, Reid, DiVincenzo
    Left with: Randle & Gobert

Both with one guaranteed year left (plus player options)
    Gobert: $36.5M + $38M PO
    Randle: $33.3M + $35.8M PO

maybe watching his buddy harden compete for a chip after unceremoniously leaving the Clips has changed his thinking? But obviously KD will have a big say over where he goes. I figure since we aren’t contending it at least has to be somewhat plausible that he might want to go play somewhere else where he has a better shot at a chip.

Yeah - any deal the TWolves make for KD is about "instant contention". They aren't interested in losing irreplaceable pieces.

KD for [Randle or Gobert], Shannon and pick #28 [traded after the pick is made]

They don't really have anything else to offer us. Randle and Gobert are their 2 biggest chips to trade, and both have middling value.

If somehow we could swing the Gobert/Randle contract section into a deal with the Wiz for AD (assuming he asks to leave) then it becomes more interesting. AD could probably play alongside Alpy, and would cover a LOT of defensive issues [until he gets hurt].

I had completely forgotten about DiVincenzo's injury ....

We know they won't make McDaniels available.

If they won't make Naz available and it comes down to Randle or Gobert - I'm not interested Unless they decline the PO or they are routed elsewhere for something that makes more sense.
