KPJ did the same. Starting to think all the losers go to him. Amen needs to lock in with the one and the only. #34

know that it’s sad they aren’t working with a Rocket staff member that is the best shooting coach in the world. Working to develop with the best of the best.

With the only guru that matters. Ben Sullivan the shooting guru. He is on the closest thing you can get to a god when it comes to making players shoot better. Am I right boys?

I don’t understand why the rockets don’t hire trainers for them to work with during the summer. Amen should be locked in with a shooting specialist 5 days a week.

    Amen true shooting percentage: 59.4%
    Ausar: 54.5%

Amen free throw makes per 100 possessions: 5.1
    Ausar: 2.8

Amen points per 100 possessions: 24.4
    Ausar: 18.4

Amen assists per 100 possessions: 7.1
    Ausar: 5.8

They are not the same player on offense on either a per-minute or per-possession basis. The scouting reports were correct that Amen is a much better offensive player. On defense, they would be similar players if both were playing the same minutes.

Aren't they? But would not surprise me at all, the Rockets are slow with these things, they have not even asked around for an Offensive coordinator.

I hate Brickley…He literally works with All Stars mostly and fools other players to use him and none of them develop ( JG / Amen) they both need more of a shooting coach / Sam cassell like person

    yeah…he’s all hype, no substance

I understand established players like Harden/Lebron/KD etc seeing him a few times to get some shots up and work up a sweat, but young players with all these flaws in their offensive game spending a bunch of time with him is a total waste of their summer

had Amen bodying some high school defender half his size and shooting shots that don’t simulate any sort of NBA action

literally would rather have Amen just hoop at all these private runs instead…Reed too

Reed needs to grow some hair on his chest and become a man

Forget the private runs either, just ****ing hoop! Listen to people like White Chocolate J Will talk about coming up as a hooper, and he just stayed balling all day every day. Wasn't doing these stupid influencer "drills" was just going out and playing basketball, all day, every day, figuring out all the little tricks to get wherever he wanted on the court. And he wasn't even that big a player or that naturally gifted. Imagine what somebody with Jalen or Amen's natural athleticism would be like if they came up the way hoopers used to come up by battle testing themselves all day every day and figuring out what works instead of running the same movement 400 times against identical worthless "defense" and midgets waving paddles around? These influencer coaches are on to some really clever hustle to be fair, all these dumbass kid athletes happy to pay them likely thousands for this bullshit.

the private runs would be them just hooping, but it would be against actual NBA players/overseas guys instead of randoms off the street

    I’m talking this

    and stuff like Rico Hines

The way he leans into his shot just looks super awkward no wonder he can’t keep it consistent

We should bring a recognized shooting guru onto the staff. Like maybe Ben Sulliv... er, never mind.

I knew what you meant, I just remember Jalen being in them and it not really making as much a difference. I remember the runs footage being very truncated so I'm not sure how much playing they actually do. If they're steady in the gym all summer long then I'm all for it, something about Jalen's track record makes me believe that's probably not the case though.

All true, but the Rockets need to learn how to play basketball again as a team. That is the top priority. And they don’t need to relearn how to run like Seabiscuit. They need to re-learn basketball with structure and purpose. The skills are almost secondary at this point although just as glaring.

Hard to play team basketball when almost your entire squad has low situational IQ
