so this weekend is rivalry weekend

    astros vs rangers (texas)
    dodgers vs angels (so cal)
san fran vs sacramento (nor cal)
    mariners vs padres????

mariners don't have anyone to matchup with on rivalry weekend lol

shouldn't padres matchup against arizona and mariners matchup vs colorado?

That's not a reason to keep or let go of a manager. If another manager could get more wins out of the team, it just means that would make the division more winnable. There's no rule that if you let go of a manager, you have to be worse off.

Consecutive WINS for only the 3rd time since the 8-game losing streak. Five weeks ago.

    Three consecutive, Virgins

this is astros' pitching staff. idk how any manager can get wins from this pitching staff if they keep pitching like above.

i'm not saying they should continue to keep espada. i'm just saying the pitching is straight ass. bringing someone else in is not going to change the pitching unless you wipe the entire clubhouse coaching staff.

This is an argument that no manager is better than any other and that they have no impact on player performance. The whole idea is that if you put people in a better position to succeed, the results (and the stats) would be better. That was the Dusty genius, for example. Every team he took over, the bullpen magically got better (even the same players) and then got worse when he left.

Teams change managers mid-season all the time and start doing much better (or worse). The stats change - people start hitting better, people start pitching better, etc. All you have to do is look at the Phillies this year. Otherwise, a manager would be completely irrelevant.

The bizarro reasons people keep finding to justify why it's OK to keep a lowly paid replacement level manager (that is going to be gone next year regardless) are truly baffling. Nobody would ever do this with a player.

But that new manager could change how and when those pitchers pitch so they are less terrible.

How about taking a starter out BEFORE he throws a new season/career high in pitches and either injures himself or gives up runs or both once on a while.

Or not making leverage relievers pitch multiple innings.
