Pivot out of the mistake. Think rationally.

    A. KD has had a detrimental effect on our youngsters and team chemistry

    B. We are not contending. A 37 yr old does not fit our timeline.

    C. His value is mostly intact because he avoided injury and played well. U want to gamble again for next season?

    D. It would be nice to recoup some assets that positively impact the long term success if the team.

The whole charade is because there is no absolute boss, it used to be Tilman who gave the direction.....

Since last year, you are not sure who is.....Stone, Udoka, Patrick......

Nobody feels accountable for the KD signing or what happens to him......

Stone always saying things without actually saying anything.....not our year....of course we want to be better, but we are not, hopefully Fred can make us better again.
'The players that fit.....I prefer elite players overlapping over just a normal fit.'

You guys need to relax. Our franchise player Fred Van Vleet will be back next season and all will be well.

You think? I guess its just me but I was always of the belief.....if someone come at you, you go back at them!

However, at the end of the day, its no big deal

Something tells me Udoka should have had Van Vleet coach offensively in the Playoffs. Is it against the rules? Things wouldn't have been so flat. Flip up shots that depended upon a friendly roll or bounce to go through the rim means no half court game plan.

I was against the KD addition from the beginning. Mainly because of his age. He is an incredible pure shooter, but he is poison to team morale. Not at first or obviously, but slowly, subtly. Get him out of here. He is very movable. Many teams think that they can make it work with him.

I said this in another thread, but it bears repeating. KD isn't the problem. He put up 26/5.5/5, while shooting 52% overall, and 42% from Downtown. Durant's STILL one of the best scorers/shooters (mid range)/closers in the game. He played 78 out of 82 games...the second most minutes in the League. And, only makes 45/yr.
We shouldn't trade him because of this ridiculous tweeting deal. Its because he has big time value to a contender, with all the pieces. It allows us to move up into the top 6 or 7 in this draft. This extends our timeline....and, insures against injury, locking in high value.

"Extend the timeline?" Surely to extend a window it has to have opened in the first place? In case you didn't notice, this latest tank didn't give us a competitive roster at all. Great for regular season wins and smoke and mirrors, but when it comes to the crunch we're charmin soft, massively lacking in basketball skills and no star player under the age of 35. We've got a kid who runs fast and jumps high (yay) but not as fast as the fastest or high as the highest, just an "all rounder" apparently.

Bomani Jones had it spot on - “I’ve never seen a guy that wins so much, be such a complete loser.”

I always figured that if we had him for three years, he might miss the playoffs in one of the seasons. And I was hoping to have him for the other two.

considering Twitter gate I really don’t know what direction we should go, but if we keep him, I am hoping we lessen the minutes considerably, change his role and we are able to have him ready to go in the playoffs.

I don’t favor that right now, I think we should trade him, but I actually anticipate us keeping him.

Not extend our timeline as contenders...we aren't as of yet.

Extend it, so that guys like Amen, Jabari, Reed... Sengun, if he's not traded...can grow more into contenders with the maturation of #6 and other additions. Move KD, and take that upside, later, and longer.
As long as Ime is the coach though, we're limited/screwed. This gives us time for him to get the axe.
All that said, can Stone get enough right? I have serious doubts.
Both of them need to go IMO, but I just dont see Tilman doing that.

Fred VanVleet on the Kevin Durant burner account rumors:

“You know the lies is always more appealing than the truth anyway. You know what I’m saying? That sh*t is about entertainment at the end of the day…. We had some weird things this year. And this is one thing that I didn’t deal with Kawhi. Because KD is the other superstar that I played with, which was Kawhi. But the media didn’t bother Kawhi. And I think it’s because his personality, right? You know he don’t give a fu*k about that sh*t. And I think that the gift and the curse With KD is that he’s so open. He’s so authentic and he’s so approachable and he’s so him that it leaves room for the fu*king clowns to jump in and add they own twist on the sh*t and then if he don’t come out and directly say no or go against that, which is what they want. There just so much room for like clickbait farming and sh*t like that when it comes to him.”

    LOL

they’re saying Fred is talking like a politician

KD is still great at what he is advertised to be. The main issue is our young core is not good enough. May be they will be good after few years or may be not. Hence, the value in KD is to trade him to get a shot at getting high draft pick this year or get more assets for future use. The issue is Stone will need to be more aggressive in near future to make something happen and hopefully it’s for more draft picks and not chasing aging stars. He needs to identify young prospect and attach the assets we have gathered to bet on him and put his job line on the line. He has not shown yet that he could do that but it will be the only way he will survive.

If you can flip Durant for Garland and the #5, which I think is doable, you ultimately flipped Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks for Garland and the #5 which to me, is an absolute steal.
