Easy. One has more impact on both ends as a playmaker and tough defender. He earned hus starting job and consistently contributed on other areas while working on his 3 pt shot. Sheppard wasn’t good enough year one. Got sent to G league to develop and came back to develop. Had defensive issues, shot selection, and passing issues this year. Had a terrible stretch of shooting. Just inconsistent all year long and the staff has played him to develop him.

Their stats seem pretty close to me. Amen this playoffs: 19.2/7/5.7. 48% FG. Defensive ace. The difference is I think Amen has #1 option upside, whereas Castle is developing into an excellent #2 next to Wemby.
Nope, the difference is Castle can score the ball without being stood directly beneath the basket, he's the superior player, not Amen.

Without Wemby, Castle’s career TS% is .53. He’s the ultimate complementary player. Without Wemby’s gravity, he’d be severely limited.
This is the problem with you stat watchers who don't actually watch basketball. Amen only has a good TS% because he has the shot profile of a 90's backup center. Castle without Wemby this regular season: 18, 7, and 7 on 60% TS this includes a 30 point triple double vs the Nuggets with Jokic and Murray playing as well 30, 10, and 6 in just 27 minutes @ the Lakers with Luka, Bron, and Reaves all healthy Castle in game 3 @ Portland without Wemby: 33 and 5 dudes just yapping and saying whatever on here

Reed Sheppard next to “Senhub” and GOAT Amen as an afterthought 4th option against a bottom 10 defense in the Lakers 12, 1, and 5 on 31/30/75 splits and 41% TS LOL if anyone thinks Castle would ever come close to that level of sh*t play in our playoff series against the Lakers if he was on this team Dylan Harper would be starting and Reed would be in a low mpg bench role if he was on the Spurs because he can’t defend, can’t handle pressure or physicality, and his game is weak outside of spot up shooting…but the Spurs would’ve never drafted him over Castle to begin with because they’re smart and our organization is dumb as hell
