I don’t really think Stroud trusted him too much this year either, seems like Nico and Shultz got a lot of contested catch opportunities but Higgins never really did
He just got better and better through out the season. I really like Higgins and Noel. Two great draft picks. Casario does seem to draft well in the WR category. Wish he was as good evaluating o-line prospects.
They immediately poured significant resources (some would say an overpay) into upgrading the running back position and shipped out the “best” player on an offensive line that is likely going to have four new starters next year. You know, all the areas some of us kept pointing out as being below average that folks like you kept dismissing as "excuses."
I'm hoping for a heck of a lot more than a Tim Patrick career for our boy! We need Higgy to become monster WR #2 to Nico this year.
Agreed, but there were still excuses. There's no excuse for CJ turning the ball over like he did in the playoffs. I dont care about lack of talent, you cant turn the ball over and win especially in the playoffs.
The NFL "525 Rule" is a known fantasy benchmark for rookie receivers. That a minimum 525 yards rookie year is strong mark if a rookie will be good in the future. Jayden Higgins rookie yards total: 525 10 starts 17 games 525 isnt a hard rule. Circumstance factors in , like scheme, QB, roster depth, coaching, etc. There are some players under 525 that have become great. (That was also for a 16 game season. Adjusted version for 17 games would be a "33 yards per game" 'rule, or "558 rule) But its a nice indication that Higgins can be counted on to become better. Other rookie years besides Andre & D-Hop: Nico Collins: 448 yds. 8 starts 14 games. 32 YPG Tank Dell: 708 yds. 8 starts, 11 games * There are past examples Will Fuller, Keke Coutee that meet the 525 or 33 YPG mark, but was flash in the pan Texans weirdness. Higgins just being healthy & professional can push him forward
