One thing I've noticed with my extended family is that the ones who were most vocal about politics during the Obama/Biden administrations, and both of Trump's election seasons, are VERY QUIET about politics now. Politics is not something I'd ever bring up in polite conversation, but I have to think they know they ****ed up and are a bit ashamed.
Repugnant Gym Jordan of Ohio Can’t Keep His Lies About Inflation Straight “What about his promise in 2024 that if he was reelected, gas would be under $2 a gallon because of his policies?” asked Collins. “Well, gas prices were coming down until we had to deal with this situation. But, you know, that’s life. That’s dealing with the world and, you know, the world we live in,” Jordan replied. “I think the country gets the fundamental fact – and I know I understand this – President Trump makes decisions that are in the best interest of our nation, 250 years, greatest country in history.” “But if someone’s listening to you and they were paying $2.98 a gallon gas before the war started, and now they’re paying $4.53, I mean, saying ‘that’s life’ might not, you know, make them feel better,” Collins replied. The jerk Jordan then said "those are your words, not mine"
From a messaging stad point, I would strongly conflate the Republican Party with Trump. Trump is doing stupid things and the Rs are letting him, rarely pushing back in only the most extreme cases. After 2028, the Rs are going to try and run away from Trump as far and fast as they can. The Ds should not let them. The Rs need to carry the weight of Trump far, far into the future. We should be used to the cycles of dismal economic performances by Republican administrations followed by Democratic administrations that put the economy on a forward footing, says The New Republic and Mike Tomasky at the New Republic’s Substack. Donald Trump inherited an economy from Joe Biden that was perhaps not firing on all cylinders but was in pretty good shape all the same. Real GDP grew at 2.8 percent in 2024. Wages were growing at a higher rate, 4.8 percent. Inflation closed out 2024 at 2.9 percent—high, but way down from the 7 percent of 2021. Compared to the EU and China, the U.S. economy was, as The Economist famously put it right before the election, “The envy of the world.” What has Trump done? What he usually does: Make things worse. Real GDP growth in the first quarter of this year was 2 percent. Okay, you say, but that’s just a quarter. What about Trump’s first full year back on the job, so as to compare apples to apples? GDP growth in 2025 was 2.1 percent—substantially lower than Biden’s 2.9 for 2024. And inflation right now in the United States stands at 3.8 percent, way above the 2024 number.
You have been wrong for over 25 years in this board and you still can't shut your yap. F'ing r****ds are the loudest.

Is there anything about Helen of Troy being white? It might sound like a conspiracy theory but I think she may have been white....
