For the dynasty to happen they have to win multiple times and convincingly.....they are not there yet, they just skipped steps to be ahead of time.....ahead 2 years for example which is good for them. Injuries unfortunately are part of the equation and part of playing 82 games in the league. The Thunder also have tons of injuries but they win out without talking it up in the media.....
Its debatable they (or any team) will win anything with how much Presti and OKC run this league. OKC next year will have Sorber and like 5 picks in the 2026 draft. That will shore up their sole weakness which are their overpaid role players like Hartenstein and Lou Dort. They prob wont use up all their picks and can sell some to other teams for even more capital or package them all for a top pick.
People really undersell the Knicks, while I think the Thunder would have a field day with KAT. New York always played Wemby and Spurs tough...... Never underestimate the Knicks and their rich history in the Finals, think of Walt Frazier, think of Jeff Van Gundy and Ewing! @Fantasma Negro
No one can predict a thing. We will see how OKCs owner will want to pay, how much over the tax they want to go, if at all, or what happens there. The last 'dynasty' they had they didn't want to pay Harden his money and he bolted. Let's see if they learned from this lesson or if they will be willing to pay their core players the huge bags of money they would otherwise get on the open market...this is not even counting the role players who other teams will try to poach and poach by overpaying. The Spurs haven't proven they can win a championship yet. I do think they have dynasty potential like...lets see them win a championship first at the very leas.t
I believe this was the peak year for talent on OKC's roster. They lost key players to injuries much of the season, but their stacked roster was the deepest in NBA in history (IMO) and it didn't stop them from rolling to the #1 seed. They will be fine for at least the next couple of years. Last summer is where big decisions were made on extensions. This coming offseason, they only have harmless trimming to do. That all said, it would not surprise me one bit if the Spurs vault past OKC next season.
They would need the refs to even come close to competing with either team and even then they would get stomped on the offensive end and lose badly.
