there are always exceptions but every credible person who scouts the youngsters is saying the same thing. You don’t want to double down that they are all wrong…with worse odds btw, now that they are flattened. 16% odds of a #1 pick IF both Brooklyn and PHX finish #4-10. If Brooklyn sucks and finishes #1-3 and if PHX finishes #11 or better, we are looking at 10% odds…in a terrible draft. It’s just not worth holding out hope for. Those are bad odds in a bad draft. I just don’t see the case for those 2027 picks.
I don’t see how anyone is trading out of the top 4. But I’ll take the crapshoot because 5-7 is probably better than what we get next yr using those picks…by a lot. There are studs in the 5-7 range in this draft.
I don't completely disagree, you just asked what the benefit of running it back was and I gave you 1. It would be three cracks at #1 overall because the Rockets would be a play-in level team. I think the Rockets should blow it up. Which would result in the same mediocrity next year probably. FVV, Adams, KD traded. Tari SNT. Add high IQ, switchable defenders, who can create for themselves and others.
Ah I didn’t understand the 3 chances thing. For sure if we are a play-in team next season without taking an intentional strategic step back, everyone gets fired. That certainly would be a good thing
It makes sense for the Lakers because they can snatch any star player they want any time they want. They never really have to build from the draft.
The way Ballmer came to direct the Clippers, he surely took Kawhi away from joining the Lakers... Depending on who is the new Owner of the Vegas team, I can see them also taking guys away from the Lakers.
Jackson Gatlin mentioned something on his podcast that I hadn't considered... If we take the "2nd wave" of rebuilding approach and make trades to get younger, we're building a team for Ime's style, and committing to a Stone/Ime future for the next few years with reduced expectations. If we take the "run it back with tweaks" approach or the "swing for the fences with a big trade" approach, then another disappointing season will almost certainly have Stone/Ime on the chopping block and any subsequent rebuilding will be done by a new regime, the way they want it. An interesting thing to consider... Do you want Stone/Ime making decisions this summer that effect us for 1 year or 2-3 years? I think they deserve another shot, but I want 2026 to be their last ditch effort to compete in the West. I'd love to see Ime have the right players to get us back to a #1-2 defense and then see our offense improve with Fred at PG and KD at/below the FT line where he doesn't have to handle the ball and gets to catch/shoot more. What I don't want is for any incoming GM/Coach to come here with players that don't fit and an empty cupboard.
Your complaints are totally invalid when you dont take accountability and you call your teammates r****ded and expect them to gel together as a team. He's a b****. And spare me that gaslighting bullshit like I said the team was perfect. It doesnt matter what team he's on HE IS NOT THE GUY YOURE SAYING HE IS. The Rockets thought they were getting a superstar and they got KD. His teammates thought they were getting their idol and they got a b****. KD needs to go somewhere that the team can carry him and he can stand in the corner and take pretty shots and he has no responsibility at all. That was never us we expected way more than he could give which is why I said on day one this was a mistake.
Absolutely, if we're considering a trade with the Bucks, I'd prefer to go for Myles Turner instead of Giannis. Our main issue is having two players who struggle to stretch the floor when Sengun and Amen are constantly on the court together. Bringing Giannis in wouldn't address this challenge, but Myles Turner would definitely make a difference. A rim protector that can stretch the floor, sign me up. With Giannis likely forcing his way out, the Bucks certainly wouldn't mind a Sengun as their new focal point, I see this trade possible. Myles Jabari KD Reed Amen
Sucks that the Spurs tanked, got lucky with Wemby and drafted extremely well during the rebuild. They’re light years better than the rockets and set for sustainable success. …no wonder Wemby was so happy when the rockets weren’t able to draft him.
Well it turned out that the Clippers did something dirty to get Kawhi. Maybe the Vegas team will do the same too as the city is known as the Sin City.
Also I am almost 100% sure Luka would still be in Dallas if they extended him and not sold him out to the league and Rob Pelinka. Euros like Luka chase the money but they are still seen as 'loyal'. To your point, Lakers still get 70% of Free Agents but most guys that would have been FAs extend now first and they bypass Free agency therefore the Lakers are not having their way like in the 70s-00s. ---which benefits fans of other teams.
I like the archtype of Turner. He just is so bad at everything else besides blocking shots and shooting threes. He looks like he should be better, but he just hasn't. If the Rockets got Giannis, I think they would have to get Turner, but would still want to find and an actual good stretch center. Kind of reminds me of Christian Wood in which he just seems to have given up.
