Astros allowing SEA's wack offense a stat-pad. This is disgusting. The lazy (non)relay from Altuve shows poorly on the manager too. Astros/Espada might make 3 wins impossible this home stand before Saturday by losing every game before Saturday. Stay tuned....
Imai or Jabreu ??? Legit question.. and depressing. Neither guy is Lance. Lance directly led to championships with huge moments. Those other fools came from nowhere near Houston then stole money via historic suckage.
Brown & Espada are praying Yordan to save their jobs so he has not been rested as result. Brown is also trying to prove his best move dealing Tucker for Smith and co was great so Astros don't even try maturing Smith as hitter in minors you know the standard way with the youth. Brown's own a*s is what matters here. Have to be said we might be the worst team to develope hitters in minors so nobody can't guarantee results for Smith if sent down but keeping him in lineup and insanely high gives a signal we are not expecting much from the team. It's not a slump. This is not hitter with track record. If Yordan again makes some silly trademark slide tired and needs another knee surgery there goes couple of next seasons and only real trade chip down the toilet.
Lord, he is making $18 mill per year, not much they can do but trot him out there. He does have an opt out after year one, maybe he takes his money and goes home if this keeps up. I feel bad for the kid, he wants to be great, but something just feels off, in Japan he was fiery on the mound, but he looks very timid out there. I really wish we had another Japanese player on the team so he could at least "talk" to someone about what to expect
Aska has been holding it down from Japan, one of the lone mega fans over yonder. Sucks she had to fly in and witness this mess
Really wonder what's gonna be the tipping point because it feels like there's a few band aids the organization is trying to avoid ripping off that clearly need to go. Espada has to go (not that he's anywhere near our biggest problem), LMJ has to be sent on his way, and Cam needs to get work on his swing in AAA.
Umm no. I’ve just accepted they aren’t going to fire him, for literally any reason until maybe after the season. even then they may just run it back with the injuries excuses.
I think Espada will be fired after the Rangers series unless Houston wins 4 of their next 5. McCullers is going to be able to finish the season unless he gets hurt or chooses to give up. Houston will need pitchers after they trade guys away at the deadline. Crane likes McCullers and as bad as McCullers is he has been loyal to the Astros and tried his best. Imai, Smith, and Yainer need to be sent down to the minors until they get it together. To me that’s the real band aid that needs to be ripped off.
Streaks are telling the entire story of the Astros record. -- Since the 8-game Ls, Astros have won 2 straight games twice. FOUR total wins. -- They also have two 4-game losing streaks. EIGHT totals losses. So... 4-8 since 0-8 equals 4-16 ---> 12 games below 500 Astros are currently 11 below because they swept BOS. The bar for any team that can't win consecutive is 75 wins just based on math. When you add long losing streaks 70 wins is the destiny.
I couldn’t disagree more that his leash is that short. I’ve been wanting him gone since the end of last season, but the same stupid reasons they used to justify keeping him after last year are absolutely still in play. Correa, Brown, Meyers, Yainer, Imai, Hader, Javier (probably missing like 5 more) have all been hurt or are currently injured, what’s going to stop them from continuing to blame injuries? Also, let us not forget that they started out 12-24 in 2024 (under Espada) and rebounded to…get swept in the WC series by AJ Hinch! There’s hope fella!! Ugh.
