Well, one reason is that these stars are treated like spoiled children. They get favorable calls.. They are glazed every opportunity and do not have to bear consequences for their actions. They think that would prop them up for popularity. The opposite is true. People want to see them fail so that the double standard system is screwed.

Should have been a one game suspension. That was not only intentional, it was delivered with malice. You can clearly see that in the expression on Wemby's face as he winds up.

 

That was not a ball protection move. Ball protection would be hugging the ball close to the chest with both hands and swinging the body around with elbows out.
