Is the difference between us and Detroit really the #1 pick?

Perhaps... but i dont view this whole having 2 "non-shooters" as such a detriment bc we dont have protoypical non-shooters... yes, Adams and CC are gonna clog the paint and not give u much scoring... but Alpi can stand out at the ft line, get the ball and do his whirling dervish to the rim... Amen snakes in and out and can oftentimes find an opening...
and KD made far too many drives this season... an affect of having people riding him from the second he crossed halfcourt... bc then he had to drive to try to create space to get off a shot... hopefully with a better facilitator, he could just hangout on the perimeter and catch n shoot 3s all game...

It's not that I disagree with a lot of your statements, but I do disagree that Mazzulla is brilliant. If he were, they would not have lost as heavy favorites 3 of his 4 seasons in the playoffs, in my opinion. There was really no excuse for them to lose those series, and he could not adjust whenever his team got cold from 3. If we were all Celtics fans, I don't think many folks here would be saying he's brilliant.

I do disagree with the analysis but it’s a fair point.

The Rockets would be so much better with a PG like Cunningham, he's a closer and there's no way teams could defend the Rockets like they did with Cunningham playing PG.

That’s true. That’s why he went to Golden state to play off Curry actions swinging the ball weakside. He did less but as reports mentioned he wanted the ball more to improvise.

But I’m saying i’m just not a believer in a Sengun centric offense even without Amen. But with Amen it reduces the number of shooters and the offense becomes more predictable

So after seeing this series, it definitely goes deeper than that, even if it starts with Cade. Having a clear #1 who's all round goes a long way. KD might be a pure scorer and All-Star, anyone would take Cade over him in a heartbeat. Then you have a knock down shooter in Robinson, a veteran who can come through for you whenever. Tobias is the steady veteran presence who's been there who can come through for you. Then we have Duren who's just there to make the occasional shot, but more for rebounding. Lastly we have Ausar, worse shooter than Amen, but helluva defender who simply plays his role and fills out the starting 5. Off the bench then you have a very mobile center in Reed, Jenkins a shooter at times, pesky defender, who actually can dribble. Stewart is a monster like Adams. Finally Levert who can knock down a shot from time to time.

So mostly young guys, with a few veterans, including some who are still young in Levert and Robinson. Biggest difference aside from Cade might still be a weaker eastern conference, but I highly doubt we take these Cavs to 7 games, even if fully healthy. I think even though some players even on Detroit's bench can be very hit and miss, literally, they do have enough shooting to have the space and allow things to come within the flow of the offense while plays are run for Cade and he takes it upon himself to get his own shot as well. We just are unfortunate that our #1 guy in Sengun is too flawed and our system doesn't give him many easy shots, we don't have enough shooting to compensate, our bigs are all slow and old and of course forcing everything to KD is way too predictable and he's turnover prone to justify it. KD would do wonders maybe in Detroit where he's just a guy they can look at for a bucket from time to time. But as our #1 / #2 option, with Ime at the helm, it's not working.

    Y’all seriously believe this?

This team was down 3-0 to 41 y/o Lebron and bums and the Lakers bottom 10 defense. There are a bunch of EC playoff teams on that level or much better.

Rockets lose to the Pistons, Celtics, Knicks, Cavs, Raptors, and Sixers in a playoff series

50-50 against the Hawks, and 60-40 vs the Magic

Magic-Rockets would be 2 bum offenses with no shooting going at it

Banchero would scorch Sengun though so they'd still beat us lol.

    honestly, they probably do

Banchero is a very flawed player, but he has multiple explosive/high scoring playoff games on his resume

Rockets are one of the worst and most beatable playoff teams regardless of conference

people talking like we lost in 6 to the Spurs in a competitive series so in the East we’d do damage…nah, most of those teams would smack us too

Imagine Rockets get the #1 pick in 2022, who would they draft? I assume it's still Jabari Smith
Imagine Rockets get the #1 pick in 2024, who would they draft? They probably will trade down and still draft Reed Sheppard.

KD only played 1 game. He woulda come back and played round 2. Yes I truly think this cuz we woulda been the 1 seed in the east. We were 23-7 versus east this year, if we had an eastern conference schedule we easily winning 60 plus games.

Lebron was still pretty damn good in the playoffs. He clearly tried a lot harder than he did in regular season. And he’s probably still better than every star in the east except maybe Cade but the pistons are just as flawed as the rockets.

Yeah I wasn't joking, I think we'd definitely lose a series against the Magic and a LOT of the teams in the East. It's not even just a talent thing, it's that we are incapable of having a competent game plan where most other teams/coaches have SOME idea what they're doing in clutch moments.

The Rockets are not close to becoming a contender.
