    What up Clutchfans!

I'm wanting to reveal something today but first, I have a story to tell.

On December 13th, 2013 (Friday the 13th) my best friend David flew to Las Vegas with one mission: fire ten $50 bets on 9-game parlays at the LVH sportsbook. That night, for whatever reason, the LVH wouldn’t allow 9-leg parlays. The max leg was 8. So David scratched off the final game on every card: Phoenix Suns vs Houston Rockets.

The first game of the 8 game parlay was the Cavs vs Magic. We had Orlando on every card except one. Why? Andrew Bynum was a mismatch.

    The Cavs won lol

    Then something crazy happened.

The second game won. Then the third. Then the fourth. Then the fifth. Then the sixth (Bulls buzzer beater) Then the seventh. Then the eighth.

    The payout was $1,600

That night changed our lives forever.

On the flight back to Chicago, David grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down one question:

“How do we stay alive after the first game next time?”

That question became an obsession for the next decade. Thousands (literally THOUSANDS) of revisions, spreadsheets, theories, failures, testing, and refinements eventually turned into a proprietary parlay system. Fast forward to 2024, I finally decided to reveal it and started reaching out to DraftKings. I messaged everyone imaginable on LinkedIn: CEOs, executives, engineers, nobody responded. Not even a “fk off.” Finally one person replied and asked to see a working model.

    My response?
    “I don’t have one.”

That’s when reality hit. Where do you even start building something like this? Who do you hire? How much does it cost? How long will it take?

Fast forward to today. After months and months of meetings, data analysis, coding, API integrations, Figma redesigns, payment processor nightmares, frustrations and bootstrapping 70k+, we're ready for customers.

    Darkhorsewin.com

Dark Horse is an AI-based sports analytics and prediction platform built around historical data, machine learning, and proprietary “DK Hypermetrics” — metrics designed to go beyond traditional box scores. It uses a hybrid approach. AI Agents and Human Touts. The platform currently covers the NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, and MLS. Instead of flooding users with endless opinions and fake confidence percentages, the system “lights up” one side per game based on our model output.

Inside the dashboard you’ll also see something called a “Dark Horse Edge” pick — games with lower vig/value conditions that we believe are more favorable long term. We strongly believe flat betting (unit betting) is the optimal strategy when using the platform. We also built an integrated AI chatbot directly into the dashboard for assistance, questions, and analysis.

Most importantly: this isn’t spam. I’ve been a member of ClutchFans since 2009, and this community felt like the only place where revealing it first made sense.

The subscription is $99.99/month with a 7-day free trial. We use Plaid and Stripe for verification and payment processing, so if you already use sportsbooks or financial apps connected through Plaid, signup is straightforward.

So what do David and I need right now?
    Feedback.

Positive. Negative. Brutally honest. Doesn’t matter. Our platform is NOT perfect. The predictions will improve. The chatbot will improve. The UX/UI will improve. Features will evolve. Down the road we plan on adding our proprietary parlay tool, prop forecasts, sweepstakes, contests and more. One more thing, our parlay tool is a game changer, a disruptor without question. I'm trying to partner up with a sportsbook to funnel customers to, in exchange for less vig as an incentive.

This was a long read. Thanks for your time, much appreciated.

Real talk - congrats on your product. I’m familiar with software lifecycles and even beta is a huge win.

Does it print money? Is your competition going to steal your idea and improve on it? Lastly and most importantly: show me some P&L. Show me the money.
