It makes sense to be honest, he's a top 5 player who's struggled to dominate the Leastern conference, and the West has OKC and the Spurs/Wemby. He's towards the end of his prime also now and I even think some of the other western teams still have more chance to become contenders (Wolves, Nuggets who still have Joker, even LA with Luka and AR won't take many trades to become legit.)
Why do the Bucks do it and not just take Towns? I feel like we're still probably sacrificing some draft capital or other useful players, I dunno.
We would have to include 21m more in salary. Towns is a better fit than Sengun, but we should be able to do better than Towns for Sengun. If we could unload DFS and Capella and get Milwaukee’s 26 frp then yeah, but the Bucks are really expecting 3-4 frps for Giannis not giving one up (lol).
Towns probably to old and expensive for what they are looking for if trading Giannis. Sengun is cheaper and allows more time to retool and figure a plan out
I do agree this point now you've said it, however @Hemingway post above confirms my other fear, we're also sending out more on top of Sengun to get it done. I'm not sure it makes us that much better when the smoke clears.
Yeah the picks would probably keep me out the deal but I think Towns would be a good fit if Sengun were gone. Idk what it would cost. Off loading DFS is a 1st in itself lol
Don’t know that I think Giannis is enough to keep pace w/ OKC & SA…….but I think it’s got a better chance than sticking w/ Sengun & friends at this point
I think he's pushing for Knicks or bust honestly. Rumor mill has been saying that's his preferred destination for awhile. I think he's going to try to make it really hard for the Bucks to trade him anywhere else. And it's true the Knicks are very well set-up to make a run at it with him. Especially if they can hold onto Towns in the deal. The main problem is they don't have much to give back to Milwaukee except bad contracts. If you're a conspiracy theorist about the draft, this will be a good time to see if the deal goes down and if Milwaukee gets "surprisingly lucky" in the lottery.
I think Wemby could just be pure luck. But after Wemby, two years later they jumped 5 spots from #7 to #2 (with Harper, Edgecomb, and Kneuppel on the board) is a bit too lucky. And Dallas getting the Flagg right after they gave up Luka looked pretty bad too.
"Pure luck" that the Tony Parker trained guy who wanted to be nowhere but the Spurs before the draft was drafted to the Spurs? I'm not buying that at all I'm afraid. It's like D.Rose going to Chicago, LeBron going to Cleveland. The league puts players where they want them to be, I can't believe anything else at this point tbh.
That sounds like a Miami trade to me. Giannas to Miami Sengun and a #1 to Milwaukee Wade, Herro to Houston
This is such a weird take. "I was all on Sengun when he's used properly. But after watching him put into position to play to his weakness instead of his strengths, I'm out on him"
Bro doesn't even want to play in Houston lol https://basketball.realgm.com/wiret...o-Play-For-Eastern-Conference-Title-Contender
