I don't follow which players are available. These are my order of preference: 1. A franchise player in his prime. (Very unlikely. You need a guy who is disgruntled with his current team and he wants to come to Houston.) 2. A potential franchise guy before he breaks out and his team is willing to give up on him. (You need great talent evaluation plus luck to find that Harden, SGA, Haliburton, etc.) 3. High draft picks. (This is probably the most reachable. You also need great talent evaluation and luck too.) So most attainable is trade Sengun or one other young player for unprotected picks and a role veteran role player or two with semi-bad contracts.
why do you people keep saying herro who is streaky, doesn’t move any needle, and terrible defender. Mitchell also streaky and even more so in the postseason that’s why he hasn’t won anything. No to those 2 and no to Brown’s enormous contract.
It’s just a grass is always greener mentality. People aren’t watching 80 heat games the way they watch 80 rockets games so they just see the highlights and don’t see the flaws.
Yep. You speak truth. We get so down on guys like Jabari, Tari, and Amen while a lot of teams would love to have them. But it seems like every time some Rocket fan plays GM he wants the oddest and weakest combinations of players.
This needs to happen: Overrated for Overrated Cavs: Sengun, Tari, DFS, PHX 2027 First Rockets: Mobley, Thomas Bryant, Craig Porter Jr, Larry Nance Jr Trade: KD to Detroit for Stewart, Holand, Huerter/ Levert Reed/ FVV Quentin Grimes (FA)/ Huerter/ Levert Amen/Holand Smith Jr Mobley/ Stewart
its not going to be Houston unless Hakeem makes the call. If we are going to trade Sengun, i really think it needs to be for a superstar on Giannis level. I fear the Rockets are going to trade Sengun for multiple pieces and its going to be a disaster. If I trusted the FO, I would tell them to go get the next SGA or James Harden thats being undervalued but I think KD would be a better trade piece for that even.
I'm a Sengun fan but I'd actually do that one. Kyrie fills our biggest need and Gafford would hopefully help flip us back to a defensive specialist team. Still think we'd need to add some shooters, and Amen would definitely have to go back to being a SF but I think that gives us a better base to build from, even with Kyrie past his prime (still a massive upgrade on Fred, and we'd still actually have Fred for when we needed to be more lockdown than scoring.)
I was all for Segun especially after watching his FIBA run this past summer. Boy was I wrong. Watching him get out played by Ayton & Hayes was disgusting & now they are both back to sucking in the OKC series. As much I hate to say it I'm out on his potential I think he is what he is at this point. Saying that I'd gladly trade him to Brooklyn for MPJ & Nic Claxton.
I actually hope this is true. Whilst I'm not longer fully opposed to trading any of the core, I really don't think Giannis is the right move. I feel like it'd be the KD **** or Westbrook **** all over again...
