With the talent on this team we should have won more, too many losses to bad teams, our coaching was exposed to not having a clue. You add one of the best scorers of all time and you stay stagnate and lose to bad teams with collapses? Yeah, that is messed up.... DD
I don't have a Kevin Durant voodoo doll like you do, but obviously having acquired him, then watching the on-court play and reading/hearing the off-court comments, the youngsters relied far too much on KD to score / bail them out. Especially with FVV and Khal Drogo sidelined. And so what was bad a season ago (losing to sh*t teams) got even worse. Man, it was painful watching the Rockets throw away games to Sacramento, New Orleans, Dallas. Minnesota in OT with a big lead. NY in the 4th quarter in prime time. Jee-zus.
Average head coach salary has gone up over the years. $5m is somewhat normal in the average band. Guys like Ime and Kerr probably get more. It was speculated that Lakers paid Reddick a pretty penny to give up his podcasts (which was on the rise). (definitely more than $5m) New Blazers owner is looking to save money... number floating around was that it was $1.4m or less. Super low. Billups' remaining salary is in escrow (frozen), not entirely off the hook, but shouldn't be draining them on a quarterly basis. That Blazers low ball offer severly limits the good HC pool. Even young coaches who just want a shot might not take that much of a salary drop. If I was Tiago, I would look elsewhere.
If still vacant, Ben Sullivan should be prioritizing Pelicans, Magic or Bulls. Starting salary matters.
Tilman is probably tailing Ime with a private investigator. "Please, find something, please please please find me some 'moral turpitude'."
