I can’t stand Cowherd and he’s wrong in this instance. KD was our best player last year but like the rest of the team, suffered under Ime’s terrible coaching.
Umm you mean most efficient shooter. Not best player. The offense is designed for him. Everything is catered to him. That's part of the issue.
He was our best shooter. Our best *player* was Amen Thompson who cant shoot to save his life and that was kinda the problem. KD is not a good basketball player unless all you do is stat watch.
I agree he was our best player this season. Unfortunately he only fits our timeline if we are contending, which we are clearly not. I also think not having a point guard hurt him a lot. Lots more turnovers, and was forced to be a play initiator, which he is not. He undoubtedly hurt our chemistry as a team. So while he was definitely our best player, he’s a poor fit for a non-contending team getting their starting point guard off ACL surgery. I really hope our front office sees the wisdom of trading him to recoup asset value.
Broken clock is right this time. If we somehow manage to trade KD for any decent return this offseason, I will be so happy. Just re-align our priorities please, this team is going nowhere with KD as its #1 option.

Are the effects of age a surprise to you? Karl Malone is a top 3 scorer in nba history and first ballot HOFer.... but he'd have been terrible for the Rockets this season.
