It really is frustrating to see all the whining about fouls. I swear I see him twirling his finger for a replay at least 3 times a game. I think we all agree the Baby Jokic nickname needs to be retired, but after his success leading the Turkish national team to the title game over the summer you have to see why some of us were excited about him. I still think his contract has him about where he needs to be. If he were making Evan Mobley money I'd agree with the players. Evan Mobley will be making $61 million in 2030 to Sengun's $39 million. It's Evan Mobley who is more overrated in my eyes.
That's the thing. How do you define "overrated." Even if we know exactly what the word means, there's still the question of "by who?" Plenty of players are both overrated and underrated by different sectors of people. Even if you ask who is most overrated on Clutchfans, you still have most players overrated by some and underrated by others.
I can see why this would end up with this tally. I I think there has been areas of regression, but I also think there are areas where we could maximize him more on the offensive end with his passing ability. Think Adelman elbow system, cuts and etc.
Gobert has long been on these lists, but he just handled Jokic and seems to be doing the same to Wemby. If they beat the Spurs he does not belong on this list.
The amount of hate Sengun is receiving is past basketball at this point. He’s getting meme’d left and right simply for his appearance, the way that he runs. Almost a high-school level of bullying. Rooting for him to bounce back and have an All-NBA type season next year.. whether that’s with the Rockets or not.
