Yep, the coaching is what failed this team against the Lakers. Sure, the guys didn't play particularly well or shoot well, but part of shooting well is having an offensive system where the guys know exactly what conditions should trigger them to shoot. Other than games 1 and 2, the lakers weren't shooting that great either, but they had an offensive game plan and executed it. We can complain about Sengun's low production, but where was the coaching staff to scheme ways to free him up? These are NBA players. Most of them aren't that bright because high IQ, great height, and NBA athleticism is a rare combo. That's why we pay coaches a lot of money to teach them where to be, what to do, and how to react to the opposing team's tactics.
I've taken years off from watching NBA when the product presented by my teams is not entertaining me. It's okay man, you don't have to feel any obligation to support a team that isn't trying to put the best product possible on the court. I watched the Rockets through the rebuilding years just to see how the players were developing. After another first-round playoff exit against a team they should have beaten, I'm lamenting the fact that we have a roster full of old guys who don't contribute much and a bunch of former first round picks we selected that are either out of the NBA or playing for other teams. If they run it back I'm not watching next year. No need to get hopes up or get mad when Ime gets outcoached once again in the playoffs.
I think Barnes, Mobley, Franz, Jalen Johnson are all better than Jalen Green. Maybe not franchise players, but close to it. I actually think Jalen Williams is a franchise player. Duran and JDub are both much better than Bari. I agree that Amen was the best pick at #4. And the verdict is still out on Reed, but Clingan and Castle have both outplayed him so far. The only two drafts where the pick wasn’t obvious or consensus was that Jalen Green draft and the Reed Shepherd draft. We know they got it wrong in the Green draft. Hopefully they didn’t get the Reed draft wrong too, but I have my doubts. Granted we haven’t drafted badly, but I just don’t think we’ve drafted really well either. I think the record is mixed. But fair to say we didn’t miss on a Cade or a Wemby type player.
of those guys, Barrnes is the best then it's a toss up on if you believe in Castle and mobley to keep improving
I'm not sure I've ever seen Clutchfans this united before. Usually there's disagreement on things. Not here.
There's disagreement among the intelligent posters and the emotional posters..... No one thinks Stone and Udoka are top 10 at their respective positions, but some of y'all are just some emotional, cry baby, pee pants with unrealistic expectations that manifest into an online b*tch fit.
Stupid Incoherent rambling Blatant gaslighting General incompetence Idiocy disguised as candidness Those are some of the words and phrases I'd use to describe the press conference yesterday
Just realized that they didn't even deny the KD-Dickerson thing was true. Ime just went on about how the locker room was fine and he's seen worse lol The silo must break. These guys have an intentional chokehold on the team. The coaching staff doesn't have strong characters. You can barely find a photo of Eli Witus online, he seems content to keep his head down and cash the paycheck. We don't know anyone else in the front office. There's no one around to challenge Stone and Udoka. Tilman put his son in charge of watching these guys and they are running rings around him.
I think the general agreement is that Stone isnt fit for his position as a general manager or figurehead. Also that we are being gaslit about the Durant tweets. And also that we dont need anything else because lord and savior Fred is returning. I sincerely hope that this is all posturing to keep Durant's trade value high. I'm assuming that's what it is because I have a hard time believing Stone is this stupid. He essentially did the same thing with Jalen Green last year.
Gaslit? I am too clever for their gaslighting attempts. All those Stone apologists really come off as bots....true, keep his values there for sure.
Stone and Udoka's backs must be so sore. No one anywhere in the basketball world - former players, former coaches, analysts, content creators - believes this season's disappointment is 0% on Udoka and Stone. Only Udoka and Stone pretend to believe that.
Predictable. So if Stonedoka agree on everything and his coaching staff is filled with his Portland AAU/San Antonio buddies, where does the (what’s the word I’m looking for, I don’t know, pushback?, differing of ideas?) come from? Oh what @Mathloom said, challenge! “Yeah you’re right, yeah this looks good, yeah this is the way, yeah that’s a good move” …just an affirmation circle jerk, from Stone to Udoka to his AAU buddies. “Players need to grow up” “Players need to matter-of-factly come back better players” “Players need to stay healthy” And no accountability for the guys who signed & hard capped themselves DFS/Capela …who punted on the entire season …who signed older/injury prone players, then blames injuries for “lost season” …who traded picks out to extend his runway/save his job “Don’t judge me until 2030” All on the Fertitta’s now.
It's the players fault for not being better. However It isn't the general managers fault for drafting players that haven't gotten better? It isn't the coaches fault for not getting more out of the players? Supposedly we are going to improve next year.... How? By the players that haven't gotten better, now magically getting better? This is like baking a cake for half the time on the back of the box, taking it out and covering it with frosting..,. They are really running out of any runway to try and avoid culpability for the growing flaws being exposed. How long until they blame the fans?
I recommend you go to Serbija once, they as in fans literally come for the coach.... Oh right, that was NCAA.
