It can come off as smug, bragging about the haves doing better than the have nots. But how do you bring up “leftist elitism” with a straight face, knowing the you and many other people go around calling left leaning states and countries ruined shitholes all day long? Well, that’s not elitism…That’s just telling it how it is right! There’s been an ongoing project of political fan fiction projection from the right, spamming the narrative a million times that the left leaning countries and states are shitholes. The problem is, these places are genuinely more prosperous than just about everywhere else in the world. Human wellbeing markers, and societal function is generally higher in left states, and especially in the “socialist shithole” euro countries that you attack. People are going to point this out. You can’t come close to dealing with this reality, so you’re retreating to clutching pearls over “elitism” instead instead of grappling with your fan fictionalized worldview, doing so with pure hypocrisy as if you aren’t eagerly calling states and countries shitholes all the time. Come on fella
With the recent Supreme Court ruling and Trump directly interfering in state elections to get them to do his bidding, this map will be almost entirely bright red for the 2028 election.
the one who claims that Irvine, CA is not a diverse city, because Asians ( ~ 40%) and Whites (~40%) combined represent ~ 80% of the city's populaton
"smug" or not. what is wrong with a PhD in English by the way? I don't understand the hate for "blue" states. They are helping pay for the "freedom" of "red" states with federal taxes. Perhaps California and NYC would not be so "hellohole" expensive if they did not have to do that while balancing their own state budgets. Life outcomes are better. The chart below displays all 50 US states ranked by a composite quality-of-life score derived from normalized life expectancy, median household income, and health index. So what do we do with this information? Demonize university in different ways? Defund public schools? What does doing this do as an individual, as a human do to help? This is supposed to be a debate & and DISCUSSION but can anyone here actually @Space Ghost talk about this and want better outcomes and lives for people without devolving into not only pointing out worthless advanced degrees? I am all ears to listen to how these outcomes show are inaccurate or don't matter, or anything else.
Oh, Stockton is an incredible shithole. Income is low. Literacy is low. Homelessness is high. Drug use is high. Crime and violence are high. Huge gang problems. Incorrect. I said diversity in and of itself does not make a city have more positive outcomes (see above re: Stockton). I said that 80% of the population is made up of the groups Asian and white which are the lower crime and higher income/education groups, and less black and Hispanic, which are statistically higher crime and lower income/education. You have never been able to understand the point, so you consistently misrepresent it. It's okay, you keep trying and one day you might be able to get it.
