In recent ClutchFans podcast, Ben Dubose proposed interesting trade with Golden State: KD for Jimy buttler + #11 in this years draft. I would strongly consider this given that young core is not ready for prime time and I'm not sure if any other team would want to give up their positioning in a deep draft.
Things that are going to be more revealing than this press conference next year. Anti tanking rules and new lottery odds New Expansion news How many players are new entrees for the 2027 Draft Who would join OKC and SAS at the top/Trades and improvements of other teams Stacked Rookie Class
Stone’s off season plan: “We are not going to change for changes’ sake. This just isn’t our year. What I don’t believe in philosophically is going to get reinforcement because they are reinforcement. We’re losers anyway and nothing will change it.”
yes, and then use #11 and additional assets to move up in the draft. Another option would be trading KD to Milwaukee for their lotto pick. But either way, it would be great to get into the lotto in this draft. It would be great to recoup asset value for KD. I hope that is part of the conversation when Stone says they could potentially “take a strategic step back”.
These two idiots talk like they’ve been given this roster as if it wasn’t built by them. Ime says we need more shooting while stone says he loves our young core but we need more skill. They aren’t on the same page when it comes to building the roster, but they’re perfectly aligned when it's time to throw the players under the bus. Hard to expect a young core to develop when the people in charge can't even agree on what they're building.
I wouldn't hold your breath. This is vacation season for our front office and coaching staff. There's nothing for them to think about since the NBA playoffs are in round 2. We have no plans to ever advance past round 1. They'll talk about Amen's contract, but the season will roll around, and we'll get to that later (ala Tari Eason, who should walk away for sure). It's May 4th, and we seem to be looking to Fred and saying, "FVV, I know you're an older Jedi, but you're our only hope."
Those are 2 middle aged men that know that they got paid well and even if they get fired, they would get their money. Dun think they have any worry or urgency.
It seems clear that Alpi hit a wall, and I think that will continue to happen as long as he's logging considerable minutes at the 5-spot. Once Adams went down, and he was on the 5-man full-time both ways, Alpi was cooked. I don't think it had much to do with playing 2 weeks of Euroleague games. That competition was very good for him. Here's the problem: if you can't play Alpi at the 5-man full-time because he's more of a PF, then what do you do with all the other PFs on this roster: Jabari, KD, and Eason (who isn't anywhere close to fast enough to cover guards and got mauled by PF Lebron in the post)? We not only need more guard play, but we also need to make some tweaks to being a forward-heavy team. That's not getting better when FVV takes the court
I think what people expected was that they make Alpe the scapegoat. But since they do not care about Playoff results officially........not sure where they see Alpe. Will they push for Giannis, for Kawhi, for Donovan Mitchell......that is still a lot of clouds of mystery. This presser had the goal to dampen any fans' expectations .....that said. I agree, Alperen's back issues, stamina issues, ankle issues over time.....are not going to get much better.
Someone should've asked Ime how long he's gonna bang Tari's mom for and if he'll eventually stop playing his dumb ass insane minutes to let him sabotage the team. Or asked him which betting platform he uses to maximise his earnings from all the point shaving. Either one would've been better than this joke.
Which is a very low bar to clear considering how often Sengun and Durant brought the ball down the court just to it turnover
I'm sorry, but saying "Fred is like Amen, because he can guard multiple positions" is not something someone with a basketball background should or would ever say.
I think it’s a totally fair criticism of Houston sports media to say: why in the hell was there no question about whether or not KD’s burner tweets hurt the team, and how was that ultimately resolved? It was a pretty big story. There’s a very strong chance it hurt the team. How come not a single media person asked that question? A vague “vibes” question is not good enough. Absolutely ridiculous. Embarrassing frankly. As a rockets fan who wants to trade KD, I’m happy that question wasn’t asked.
It's safe bet to say that Rockets will still be 1st round exit team next season. Because they have terrible coach and GM. Rockets are a bad organization. They seem so stupid.
