he's been saying the same thing since FVV and Dillon Brooks walked into this door. the core isn't enough. none of the guys scream superstar to me and they are about to pay Amen $250 Million to not dribble or shoot.
Yea that just sounded weak and confused...I would like them to be more open without going into circles and not giving us any clear answers
1. When you say improvement - what EXACTLY is the org doing to assist in that improvement. For Example, Amen's shooting, do coaches work with him all summer to improve his shooting, or Alpi's 3pt shooting? What does the Org do to help Reed learn how to read situations off the dribble. Exactly what is this coaching staff and ORG doing to assist this improvement? 2. Why are we playing an ISO heavy system when we have players that are not ISO players? Is there a chance we can get an offensive coordinator in to help? 3. Last year's offseason largely fell flat why type of players are you looking to add to fill in deficiencies in this roster? We clearly lack dribble creation for instance, will that be a targeted ability? 4. This year had multiple 4th quarter collapses trying to get the ball to Durant at the top, is there a way we can redefine how we use KD, to be more in his comfort zone, like as a finisher instead of an initiator? DD
Ime said didn't want to take away from reed or amen development. Stone after the deadline: We arent a development team. Lmao why is there a huge disconnect?
Stone sounds defensive, which is exactly what I expected. I have very little confidence left in him. Just own it. But they don't ever do that...
What do you need and usage of Durant going forward? Udoka: Variety is good for us. Shooting always stands out. We want internal growth from our young guys. I said it the final press conference, we have guys who do the same thing. Shooting would be good. Talking about PG, it came down to the names and would anyone supplant Amen/Reed. We also hoped they took steps and grew enough to back up Fred. Shooting is always a thing. Versatility is good thing for us. We’ll look at everything. As far as Kevin, you definitely want to shave those minutes down. Wasn’t the plan going into the season. … He shouldered the load. You take age into effect but having Fred/Steven back, Dorian coming off injury, we should be able to do that. Our balance is good when everyone is healthy.
the first hint of "heads will roll" . . . at the end of the bench "it's unlikely we'll bring 15 guys back"
If no Dicki-leaks questions then this whole thing is just posturing. Could ask so many questions about Tari extension, Amen extension, Alpy struggles, etc.
I'm ok with him saying giving Reed and Jabari time to improve to elite shooting... Jabari has changed his shot somewhere mid season where he increased his arch. I think he will continue to improve in that area... Reed is for sure a better shooter than what we saw in playoffs, would expect him to still shoot over 42% from the three
What do you take from Reed’s season? Is he a starting PG? Stone: My expectation is he should be. I thought he had a great season. Didn’t play as a rookie. He got thrown into the fire. When he was good, really good. It’s finding consistency. He took a big jump last summer. He needs to do the same this summer. The expectation is playing his best nightly. Amen’s season as PG Udoka: Had some ups and downs. Him and Reed, that’s not their natural position. He’s more off-ball. Their growth, we knew they’d take lumps. If you have a rookie QB in the NFL, he’s played QB before. Different than bringing In two guys who haven’t. It’ll benefit us going forward. Last 2 months, saw Amen’s numbers/comfort take off. … Both took steps in the right direction playing point guard. Stone: Very happy with Amen’s year. Ton of minutes, super durable, really good season to build off of. Big thing for him is becoming more consistent and doing it in the playoffs. He’s capable of so much more. We’ll keep pushing him. Alpi’s season and any concern about summer load? Udoka: It was good for him. We had coaches out there with him. Had a good EuroBasket. Was in tremendous shape. … Started the season great, might’ve hit a wall in the middle, saw things physically add up, but good thing to continue to play.
