Damn, the Iranians are showing no fear and zero chill. Just whooped a US warship out of the gulf for not following orders.

Iran says they hit a US ship with a missile, the US denies it, independent reporting verifies that two ships have successfully navigated the Strait with US assistance. Mathloom may have gotten himself excited a bit too early.

 

Oh you mean like that time the US denied the bases were hit hard? or the F15 that didn't go down? haha

Iran has claimed several hits on American ships that have turned out to not be true. I think they claimed to have severely damaged and disabled the Abraham Lincoln which wasn't true and then claimed the exact same thing two or three weeks later, which again was not true.

Both sides are serial liars and propagandists, but this claim fits into a pattern of Iranian mistruths. Its possible that Iranian missiles are being intercepted by CWIS and Iran is unable to differentiate a near detonation from an actual hit at range?

Its also seems to be perfectly timed to generate distrust in the ability of American ships to safely escort ships through the straight right as they are starting to escort ships through the straight.

Regardless, the Iranians have made similar claims in the past and thusfar they have all been inaccurate. You, of course, can believe whatever you want to believe. I think based on the history of this particular claim, at this point I would expect some photographic evidence before I would believe it.

 

Why haven’t the names of the rescued pilots been released. It’s been nearly a month.

There is a huge difference between a person conservative in their thoughts and a MAGA, TRUMP supporter.
I am a bit right of center but did not ever vote for the person in office at present.
All MAGAS are conservative but not all conservatives are MAGA. A very important distinction that needs to be brought up

Not to derail the thread, but I don't think you can say "all MAGAs are conservative" because Trump has completed upended what 40 years of Reagan conservatism meant. MAGAs are MAGA. The old school conservatism is practically dead.

I'm not here to stump for the Trump admin's honesty (LMAO!) just pointing out that multiple media sites have reported that ships have passed through the Strait today (which sure could also end up false) and that no one is reporting anything about a US ship on fire or anything.

Mathloom's glee at the idea of an American ship being hit and is embrace of Iranian media reports is pretty revealing.

Even those of us who have extreme dislike for Trump and his administration shouldn't be smirking and celebrating if Americans get hit with missiles.

 

Yeah, agreed. I don't think the traditional conservative exists anymore as a relevant political force. Basically any traditional conservative at this point is stuck either trying to drag the Democrats to the center and voting blue or keeping their mouth shut and voting red and praying for it all to be over.

I think we need to stop doing this and just accept that "conservative" has changed meanings. Things like small government are no longer part of the conservative definition any more than pre Civil-War opinions on slavery are part of the Democrat party.

US conservative politics is now defined almost entirely as:
Pro business
White reactionary

Where foreign policy is at in the Republican party post-Trump is really the only thing I think is left up for grabs. There is a good chance that the alleged isolationism and anti-Nato stuff is unique to Trump's terms and will be replaced by traditional neo-conservative foreign policy what's he out.

No, "Conservative" as a political classification might have changed meaning but "conservative" as an adjective in the English language has not. MAGA might have captured what it means to be a Conservative but they are not conservative; they're radical.
