I’d definitely be ok with this trade, but not sure if it’s possible anymore the way Sengun played in the playoffs lol
The guy won a hard won title and they’ve had injury issues ever since. I wouldn’t go as far as calling him a “loser”.
What we should be doing is making KD available to Milwaukee so they can take another swing at a chip with Giannis. Let’s cash out on KD and keep Giannis in the east. They can trade their 2026 1st round pick but they don’t have another tradeable 1st until 2031. We grab their 2026 pick, a bunch of 2nds and take back Kuzma’s expiring and Portis. If we can get a top 10 pick in this 2026 draft for KD, we need to take it and move on.
I think they'll keep KD, gut the roster for Giannis and add a shooter or two. They might offer Sengun and Reed and picks for him but that might not be enough.
Giannis is not the answer. Good player. Older, great defensive player, decent to solid offensive player, but shooting is our issue. Sengun is a better shooter than Giannis. Far more potential. We need an offensive coach that believes in Sengun. I'm tired of coaching not believing in what is fairly obvious as far as talent goes.
Number 2 isn't realistic and I don't think he or any player would take a step back and not score sengun has had 5 years in the league yet still highly inconsistent and consistently making mistakes (turnovers, fouls). Not a smart player or mentally sound by any means. Giannis is a superior passer to Sengun. He runs the break better and makes plays off the drive finding shooters better than Sengun who seldom passes out to shooters unless he’s posting up.
Better record than the Bucks still. Why would the Rockets take a step back further by having Giannis? Look at someone better than this one-dimensional player who only relies on his athleticism while his body is no longer cooperating with him.
Rockets were terrible for how long and what did they get? Not 1 all nba player. Getting Wemby was the last chance. They blew it not drafting Barnes or Mobley. Take the 2 or 3 yr window and start over again.
No he's not especially in the playoffs. Play Giannis at center with KD and Smith flanking. If Amen has to go with Sengun and FVV, so be it.
I don't understand the obsession with Ware. Like Whiteside/Ayton/Whitmore and guys like that, there have been questions about his attitude and motor. So think logically: if there are no such issues, why on earth would they give him up? If they're giving him up, what do you think is the reason? Doesn't make any sense. That would be a two-way C for them.
unfortunately this idea that we are in a “window” or that Giannis gives us a widow is magical thinking. it is highly unlikely that KD stays healthy next season. We got so lucky with KD’s health this season and it was all for nothing. Giannis is coming off a 36 game season and is one yr older. pouring in assets to chase old stars doesn’t work. It’s just gonna make an inevitable rebuild that much harder, longer and more painful. When was the last time that worked? Boston? They already had Paul Pierce. Miami? They already had Wade. we are going nowhere until we find a franchise player of our own. Anything else is a distraction and a detour doomed to failure. There are no shortcuts to beating SA and OKC. It’s hard to accept that we have been rebuilding for 6 yrs and still don’t have our franchise guy. But that’s the reality. To me that raises questions about our front office, and maybe should necessitate changes. But u don’t go down a path of desperation and futility chase old stars while mortgaging more of our future.
There is a narrow path to contention with Giannis and Amen on the same team. You need shooting at the other 3 positions. Dealing Sengun, Reed, and DFS for Giannis and Bobby Portis would allow you to play Bari & Portis as stretch 5s. Still, it's not ideal. The better solution would be to move Sengun, Amen, and DFS for Giannis and Portis. Now your ceiling is way higher, Portis elevates your shooting, and you can offer a real wing (I think Amen is a small PF) a starting position with your MLE. Think about something like this: PG: VanVleet / Sheppard SG: Norman Powell / Okogie SF: Durant / Smith, Jr. PF: Antetokounmpo / Portis C: Adams / Capela
But the injuries are him too. Why do we think he will magically be healthy when he gets here? It’s Houston we have the worst injury luck.
This team doesn’t even make the playoffs.. So our starting lineup is 2 guys coming off major injuries, a quitter, 1 Achilles injury away from being worst contract in league and Norman Powell.. I don’t even understand how Adams and Giannis can play together. you somehow want to give up our two best young players for a 30 years old giannis who can’t stay on the court. Like wtf. If we offered Amen or Sengun alone that be enough. And you think we should give up both. I hope the rockets are that dumb and we can watch amen and Sengun in the finals while we struggle to make the playoffs,
Not to butt in, but I will anyway. If it was just Sengun and filler for Giannis I wouldn’t mind the trade as much, although I think we’d be better off trying to get frp’s and/or young players for him. It is the frp’s or Jabari that would unpalatable to me.
Giannis needs shooters, that's one thing we don't have. Giannis is also a PF, so say you pay for both a Sengun and an Amen for Giannis, you still have to go out and get a strecth C. That's not even counting Yawnis injury, atheltic decline, all the cap space he takes up, plus roster spots for his brothers. Giannis is high maintenance, and as good as their local PR has been, the passive-agressive is on full on display can has not been contained the last two years. It's not that I can't part with Sengun nor Amen, it's the return and the window of that return.
