We are running back because this year just wasn't our year. But next year can be if the stars align, the feng shui in the Toyota Center is good, and dickerson stops trashing his teammates on burner accounts.

I can understand running it back, but we still need to augment the roster. Durant will have to make amends. on top of that the coaching staff will have to figure out a way to diversify the offense.

I would much rather a new coach and some pretty significant changes.

Before KD apologies for anything I think Amen and Sengun need to apologize for being absolute garbage at shooting the ball, Reed and Sengun need to apologize for being zeros on the defensive side and then Reed should probably apologize for even being in the rotation on a playoff team.

if they trade KD I will watch the games, but it’s a lost cause if your best player talked sh*t about the other guys. A broken locker room will lead to a 1st or 2nd round exit after another inconsistent regular season. Might as well just look at the box scores until the playoffs.

The top priority has to be hiring an offensive coach. Get rid of everyone but the young core and KD and completely rebuild the bench with shooters and smart players.

I think some need to relax and realize who exactly Stone is leaking to.

this article says nothing. Just says “it's expected Houston brings back its core players”

According to whom? The offense hasn’t worked in 2 years here. Can we believe that they won’t address this in the offseason? I think it’s pretty clear you can’t run a Sengun centric offense and expect to win. And you can’t pair him up with another non shooter

Honestly, they are so far behind OKC and San Antonio that it probably doesn't matter what they do next year. Unless those two teams have injury problems or something, you're not realistically catching them. Running it back is the path of least resistance. I don't see them doing much more than that either.

    Another wasted season.

I will have very little interest in the Rockets next year.

I'm not a basketball expert. Nowhere near close. But I expect the people actually getting paid to do the job to see things that the average NBA fan can see from a mile away. I hope that Iko's 'sources' are just those in Stone's camp and that ownership will come to the realization that this isn't the way. This feels to me like someone from Stone's front office is telling this to Iko. And of course, Stone would do something silly like this because he's one of the most untalented, uncreative GMs in the league today. All he knows how to do is tank and sell hope and then chase aging superstars when his top lottery draft picks don't fulfill their potential. Get him outta here pronto!

And it is obvious that our coaching and FO sucks, but you keep defending it. I acknowledge that probably Sengun needs to go. I also think Reed is overrated and Amen needs to develop a shot. All those obvious observations can be true at the same time. I’m sorry, but a team with Alpi, Amen, Reed, Jabari, Tari should be able to score 80 points in a playoff game. In the one old man game, they scored 94 points against the juggernaut defensive team. Lakers. How can you defend all the 4th quarter losses where Ime kept going back to Durant and Sengun playing PG? How about Tate in game 3. The roster needs adjusting, but is far from the biggest problem.

So much whining here about a 52-win team that made the playoffs. Did I hope we performed better in the playoffs? Of course.

But you all have pretty short memories if you think this was a terrible season. We’ve had some lean years. Even several of the Harden years were worse.

Don’t worry, if this still doesn’t work next year, I’m sure there will be changes.

If you "run it back," then you can expect the same or similar results. This team needs a lot of work. Need a "dead eye" shooter for sure. Love Reed, but he is currently very streaky. Need more defense as well. Personally, I move KD.

I don’t defend anything. I welcome any discussion but just saying it sucks doesn’t prove anything. I keep saying we play the way we play because of personnel. You of all people should know this by now. We don’t have anyone that is both a threat from 3 and can drive. Do you realize how this limits the offense? It’s baffling you and people keep blaming the coaching when the personnel and fit isn’t there. I have also said I never agreed to the Durant trade or Sheppard draft. I also don’t agree with no pg backup plan.

Just yelling for trades and playing Sheppard more or saying the offense is stagnant with no in depth analysis but instead constantly whining and complaining about the coach and front office is pretty silly and ignorant to me.

You spend most of your time defending Ime specifically. I do appreciate your analysis and think you have good basketball knowledge. I just don’t see you ever acknowledge that there may be a problem other than roster construction. You want proof for everything, but that is virtually impossible without being in the Rocket FO. We all have our own ways of interpreting what we see on the court. Calling people who vent their anger by what is obvious failure, “silly and ignorant” is below your own standard.

Not at all. People are free to say and do what they want but simply writing nasty, ugly, hateful comments to demean our coach is ignorant especially with little analysis or facts to back up with. I never said anything about being in the front office. I specifically said the constant complaining and anger is silly and ignorant when people can’t articulate exactly what’s wrong but instead they get emotionally stirred up and base their opinions off emotion not facts , logic, or knowledge. There’s a few on here that have articulated themselves on why they want change and that’s great. But for the most part the hate and emotion is unnecessary.

I never said Udoka was perfect. I defend him against bias and misinformation. If you say he sucks that’s stupid to me and his record doesn’t suggest that. If you say he has low IQ that’s even dumber considering you’re not a professional coach. That’s why I defend him and players alike. No problem and don’t care if you don’t agree with him or like him if you can calmly, logically, and intelligently justify why. I have said in the past they need to use Amen more as a playmaker but that’s a two edged sword since he isn’t a threat to shoot and they pack the paint like last night. I will keep saying it that this team is flawed in the way it’s constructed and no coach can play this team any differently or significantly better
