Fire everyone, especially Stone and Ime. Stone has had plenty of years to rebuild and it has completely fallen apart with nothing to show. He is an incompetent GM and has no vision or ability to make this team relevant.

It should be Ime, Stone, and KD.

It likely will be Sengun, Reed, and Tari.

Get me Evan Mobley or Paolo Banchero. Keep Amen. Everything else is window dressing.

I think the primary order of business should be to move Sengun.

His performance in this year’s playoffs solidifies the fact that he isn’t a consistent foundational piece. He lacks mental discipline and focus and it showed with the decision making on offense, fouls, and inconsistent scoring. His inability to stretch the floor alongside Thompson also has limited this offense.

I would like to see either Giannis or Kawhi in a Rockets uniform. Also get a stretch big if we get Giannis or a defensive, lob threat if we get Kawhi. Add Sheppard to the deal to sweeten the pot but also to get rid of his 10 mil contract. We could also do a sign and trade with Eason in a separate deal but we have his bird rights so may think about a reasonable deal here.

I think clearing out Sengun solves this congestion problem. Giannis plays quite differently. He is a better post up player and can draw doubles that way. He attacks from the perimeter quicker than Sengun and like a 2 guard which causes havoc on defenses and he’s a great passer. He’s a better passer than the overrated Sengun and locates shooters better.

Amen not being able to shoot is a concern still but he’s shown us the ability to do a dribble pullup jumper from 15. I think he’ll continue to work on this and a 3 and i like the speed and dynamic play with him and Giannis which will be a handful for teams on the break or in the half court.

I also like Kawhi as a 2 guard alongside Durant which is exactly what this team needs. Shooting, defense, playmaking. Add a tough defensive lob threat and with fred back this is a savvy team with 3 former champs that can defend and shoot.

people actually want to keep Reed? He sucks and i can’t believe he went #3.

He’s slow, he can’t create his own shot, he can’t pass, he’s a liability on defense - and the one thing he’s supposed to be really good at (shooting) is inconsistent at best. He is an end of the bench player that we drafted at #3.

Only people we need to keep are Jabari Smith and Amen (Amen seriously needs to work on a jump shot and his handle)

Trading Sengun for Giannis or Kawhi would be a disaster, unless we're punting them to a third team for draft picks/young players/etc. We need to be rebuilding, not throwing more good money after bad on a failed attempt to win now with injury-prone past-their-prime stars.

nah. The time to win is now. Our younger players like Amen or Bari are entering their prime and can’t wait around for 3 more years for a player who might be good to develop. Thar makes zero sense to me. There are zero guarantees any draft pick would be a foundational piece and only extends this timeline to win with aging players and contracts. This team needs foundational pieces that are consistent and they need players who are dominant not some rookie who may never pan out.

This would be one of the best outcomes I can imagine, but your first instinct is right. They are running it back with FVV and KD. I don’t think the Ware scenario is realistic. Do apron restrictions keep Minnesota from aggregating contracts? If they do Ayo is not worth 45m for matching purposes. If they can aggregate then I think that is your most realistic trade. I don’t think NOP wants to trade Murphy even for Sengun, but could be wrong and doubt they would throw in a pick, but they are an incredibly dumb organization so who knows. They gave up this year’s pick in a very good draft for Queen so maybe you got a shot.

Typical prime years for a player age age 27-31 or so. Trading for a guy who's already past that age range makes no sense to me whatsoever. Even if our young guys become good enough to at least be the #2 on a championship team, it probably won't be next season, or even the one after that.

We need to be following the OKC model, not the Clippers / Suns model. Which do you think has been more successful?

Too optimistic about Reed as well. He might be a starting pg someday, but not next year. He can’t put on enough muscle that quickly if ever and Ime’s not going to play him much unless FVV gets hurt again. We are f*cked for another year. Tito doesn’t give a rat’s ass about this team winning. He can just sit on his hands and let the TV money roll in and the appreciation of the franchise build up.

The fastest way to a reset is 1 year in my opinion. That will take moving Sengun this offseason for Giannis. He wants an extension though and Stone would probably give it to him.
Since KD and Fred dont have really any value they play one more year and then they both come off the books at the end of next year, as well as Adams.
This will reset the rebuild, while deciding if you can build around Amen.
What I would be looking for in Amen and Jabari is their progression around vets. The chance of all the vets being injured next year is significantly high, but one thing I can say about all of them is that they all perform well in the playoffs.
With Sengun you dont have that. We have no Alpha with the young core right now. We have role players in this core, that don't effect the game with their will to win. I've seen Durant hit big shot after big shot when he was with the Thunder. I've watched Giannis impose his will defensively and offensively with the Bucks. I've also watched Fred hit big shot after big shot with the Raptors. I'm not saying we will win a championship with those guys. I just believe I'd rather have a 1 year window that is leading somewhere, which is a full reset, while evaluating Amen and Jabari as a a bench guy.
I know Reed is young, but I dont think you can keep him if he's going to let guys blow past him. Even Luke Kennard can stay in front of people. Everyone on this forum complained about Cam Whitmores defense. Well Reed plays the same defense. I just dont think there is anyway to teach someone common sense.
You add drive and penetrate shooters in here like Ayo, or someone like Alexander- Walker just rentals that you only have to sign to maybe 2 year deals.
Bottom line is I'm done running it back with this collective group from our draft picks. I also think people who are saying we are destroying our rebuild, dont realize we're running it back with the same people if we get rid of the vets. Low iq players who look atrocious in offensive sets.
That aspect is mostly on coaching, because this bunch should not have the power to go out there and do just anything without repercussions. I just dont think it will change with another coach either.

Trade KD, then trade whoever else you want. But don’t bring in washed‑up vets who’ll be injured and useless in a year. Houston doesn’t need that dead weight. And Fire Udoka...

Reed is too limited to be a point guard also.

I don’t think anyone thinks FVV makes us into a contender. But, we probably don’t have the ability to transform this team into a true contender in one offseason. Fred is better than anything else we currently have to run the point. I’m pretty sure we bring most of this team back next season. We can’t force other teams to give us the players we want in return for our trash.

Not to mention at his peak he wasn't an elite player either. Now he's a year older coming off an injury and his shooting is even worse

Taking their cues from the Astros thinking this season will be better without injuries

    Rafael Stone: stays
    Ime Udoka: stays
Kevin Durant: stays (unless he personally asks out)
    Amen Thompson: stays, extended
    Jabari Smith: stays for now
    Tari Eason: 50/50
    Alperen Sengun: gone
    Reed Sheppard: lean towards gone

Trade for a big name, 2 year window
Then rebuild around Ben Simmons in 2 years.
