Boston team gets better without him, wins a ring loses to the 7th seed as a 2nd seed Next year gets near swept by a team missing its 2 best players for most of the series where he was heavily favored to win again. I’m sure his fans will us an injury excuse when he plays the starters including mid 30 year olds the most minutes in the entire league. That dosnt even account for implementing one of the worst offensive brands of basketball we’ve ever seen. Anybody that thinks Udoka is even mediocre really shouldn’t have basketball input taken seriously.
They may not be that good you're right. I see the Texans have added all this talent around CJ... even added to the defense. Right now they are celebrating Agent 0 and Will getting paid like we celebrated paying Steven Adams, KD and FVV getting paid and/or extended before this season started. However, when we need you most who is really showing up after the big pay days besides the hoes you flew in that have courtside seats? I need to see championship results. Not embarrassing exits.
as I said in the other thread… it’s not like we didn’t know there was a guard / shooting need before the deadline and for sure there wasn’t any suitable players to trade for …. that is why both Ime and stone should be fired. Two years in a row where we could’ve feasibly competed for a title and they did nothing at the deadline when we had a huge glaring need, and you have the thunder who are stacked and deeper than any team in the league Still adding talent. We are a weak and stupidly ran front office
The bigger meeting is between Tillman and Stone. Ime has faults, but Stone refused to do anything when players like Luke Kennard were free agents. The Lakers rented him for one season, and they are advancing in the playoffs. Stone also ruined our young assets and our roster. He wrongly evaluated Jalen Green as the #2 pick. He gambled with Sheppard over a clear sure thing in Castle. They are the same age. Maybe Sheppard develops new ball-handling nuances to create his own shot, but it seems very unlikely at this point. Stone never wants to make key roster moves. He's always late. It would have taken guts to move on from Jalen Green, Tari, dropping the illusion that Amen is a PG, prior to the 2024 season. I would argue that a core of Castle, Amen, Brooks, and Sengun would make life difficult for the Golden State in 2025 and the Lakers in 2026. And you would still have better depth from dealing Jalen early (pre-Golden State flameout). We're going nowhere as long as Stone is in our way.
This is a genuine question; what do you think he does well? What did he do well this series? Can you point to a specific play, sequence, moment of the game where he explicitly showed that he was a good coach this series? And if this series is too specific, what about the regular season inspired confidence in you?
In short, the Lakers made adjustments and Ime didn't have 4 more games to figure out how to deal with them. If the Rockets don't fire this dipshit they are a fundamentally unserious organization.
Gosh, I wonder who's to blame for lack of shooting, PG skills, too many duplicates on the roster, inability to create advantages, etc. Couldn't possibly have anything to do with Ime Udoka and his particular fixations, nope! At least it shows some awareness of the actual problems, I guess, if not the source of them.
Fair. I should have clarified, does Ime have any strengths that are a positive for the Rockets? I certainly haven't seen any....but you're right, he's good at deflecting blame from himself and throwing players under the bus, he does it practically every game.
I hear he's really good at sleeping with colleagues wives and hitting on their girlfriends. I also think someone needs to keep an eye on him and Momster, because how the **** else is Tardi getting all of these minutes in the later half of the season?
this roster sucked following injuries. it was already thin and it relied on older players to stay healthy. in the end the worst happened. FVV/Adams/KD are top 8 players on this roster and were all missing. There wasn't a 9-12 guy ready to step in because Stone hard capped himself and got DFS and Capela.
So I'm a little hung over, both from the drinking last night and that a$$ performance of a game, but I'm a little confused. First off, I'm having a hard time remembering who the Lakers "real" PG is? I think it's Marcus Smart. Granted they had Austin Reaves for the last few games so there's that, he's their SG. But are we also thinking that Ayton is a better C than Sengun? I'm confused also because it seems to me that until Reaves came back the Lakers actually beat us without a real PG or SG and their C is Ayton. Who most would probably struggle to consider a top 15 C in the league. Here's my point, if you are still reading, we got outcoached and in last nights game b-slapped by a bona fide NBA alpha. We need leadership. Katie is not a leader. Fred and Adams, who were both hurt, are leaders on the court. Therefore it falls to Ime and he doesn't empower his players to lead. He isn't accountable himself but instead blames others. This then gives way for the other players to "hold each other accountable (blame)". It's a little like how people mistake fear for respect. I don't fear the men I respect and I don't respect the men I fear. Leadership is not about blaming others. I'm laying this at Udoka's feet. Reed had a bad game. He's young and should have had a bunch of these games before the halfway point of the season so he could have already learned how to help his team better when the shots aren't falling. Instead he got benched. And to his size and defense. You need to go no further than our own bench and see on Fred VanVleet to study the model for a championship PG. I'm sorry Rvo384. If my post feels a little aggressive it's not meant for you. I was going to just say in response to your point that the Lakers weren't really playing with much themselves. It's Ime I'm pissed at. I'm so tired of his BS. What a waste of a season.
I could not disagree any more with this take. You and I do not watch the same thing. Amen is a winner, a dog, our entire culture. Get rid of whoever you have to and build around him. Stop with the surface level bad takes, you don't have a clue.
Ime has failed every test of being a true leader, starting with not taking accountability for his own failings. That press conference was 100% scapegoating injuries and our young players. I am terrified of our organization’s lack of strong player development. I have sincerely grown to detest Ime.
In the end, maybe Stone was right and it just wasn’t our year. We basically took last years team, which was on its way up, and said now play without Jalen, Dillon, Fred, and Steven and sub for the old chemistry guru that is KD. Then abruptly play in the playoffs without him.
To be completely fair, some of these players still look the same as when Silas was here. They are not good.
