I mean, Reed, Amen, Tari, Jabari, Alperen is a really solid young core *absolutely* lacking a veteran presence regarding playoffs... I don't find a whole helluva lot to complain about, outside of consistency. Reed's a shooter and handsy defender, Amen is a budding 2 way star if the shot progresses, Tari is a classic 3&D wing given some IQ, Jabari is a bucket/rim protector, Alpe is a paint presence, with a flair for passing. The only thing missing from each is consistency, maybe cohesiveness. I think we've seen a smol sentiment of belief in each other for 2 playoff wins. DFS, Tate, Holiday isn't exactly the same presence. No questions there. Uh, right? Ok. Can you keep a team healthy? People flagrantly b**** about Tate. I've even seen complaints about Okogie. A fair but smol complaint about Capela. Literally no one complaining about Unc. That's the third string. Hard to do better than them, if you're being honest. Can you keep a team healthy? Does that mean relying on Amen for 95 minutes a game? Jabari for only 74? Some old ass bucket for 59 mpg? Some 5'10" guard? Hell no. We've got a couple of 2nds and the ghost of DFS contract to improve. Capela's contract. We're blessed if Okogie resigns, maybe Tate too. Whatever we can get with that and actual health management of old and injury prone veterans, whatever improvement we can expect from youngins makes 26-27 a season worth watching. You tell me Stone. Timlan. Patrick. This **** is an expense to us non-billionaires. Make it worth my while, eh?
add them don't add them they're not beating OKC or San Antonio for the next 5 years unless OKC and SA suffer major injuries don't forget dallas is also looming with their superstar in cooper
I don't think panic trading is the answer... I think our BKN 2027 pick is the most juicy draft asset and we have up until the 2027 draft to package it with Sengun or Amen. We may pull that trigger in this upcoming offseason or mid season deadline, but running it back with this team with a different back end roster and assistant coaching staff is a prudent option among a few.
I am not too confident that we can really compete for championship with them and the young core. The young core is not growing fast enough. Let’s trade the vets and do semi rebuild with more assets to use in the future. We can bring in more vets and/or star few years down the road. This expedited timeline is not working out well. If we chose this path, Ime would likely quit and we can get another coach who will focus on player development and instill offense that is greater than sum of its parts.
Even adding those guys you still suffer the same issues. Zero shooting and zero spacing. This team won't win with both Amen and Sengun out there. Teams with no shooting and no spacing don't make it far in today's game.
2026 Draft would be a good way to scoop up a star. It may take losing a few of the core. I would still hold on to Sengun, Amen, and Reed. Jabari, Eason and future pick could net you in the top 10 in 26 draft? Then we have 27 nets pick to try one more time right? FVV and Durant are also tradable!
While panic trading is not the answer, neither is Alperen Sengun. Cash in while he has value. If you can bring back Giannis - wow! Then shape the squad around him and contend for a year or 3. Then back to ping pong balls
I think you keep amen, reed, and jabari. realistically the only way to make the team better is to trade amen or alp and I have more faith in amen. (I want them to trade KD but that won't make the team better)
The system looks completely broken, it was just non stop iso ball, no adjustments, even if you add two more super stars and keep KD this team does not win it all. There is no small tweaks with this roster, it needs a complete rebuild. Keep Amen, Reed, and Jabari, thats it.
Sengun DFS Capela and so many picks for Giannis. accelerate the timeline. accelerate the next rebuild. we are cooked for several years
Reed and Amen and to a degree Jabari do not mean anything if you do not have a complete team. They are wasting away in 1st Round Exits.....not sure if that is so beneficial to their growth.
I liked the philosophy the Rockets tried to build around before the season - get over sized, athletic 3&D guys with ridiculous wingspans for maximum disruption on the defensive end, but they got the wrong guys and they have the wrong coach.
Adding the geriatric and slow crew makes a marginal impact, but still leaves us lacking a creative on the ball player. DD
They need to rebuild the bench. Should be some good min vets out there that would want to sign with this group. Now that it is going to be fully healthy for a run. They need to be aggressive stop resigning players like Tate, Holiday, Green these guys are not playoff caliber bench anymore. As is they have no bench. Sign some quality scorers. I would trade Capela, and Dfs for a quality shooter.
the 2027 Brooklyn pick is not a juicy asset. Why do u keep saying this. It has a good chance to be about 5% odds. 8% at the absolute most. If you add in the Suns pick it’s likely to be 13% odds, 16% at most…in a bad draft. Try trading this picks to get into the lotto of this draft and rival GMs will laugh and hang up the phone.
