Nah Stone had a great year the team just got unlucky with injuries. No **** the bench will be terrible cuz our starter and best bench player were injured. Stone signed Adams to a good deal, traded for and got KD, dumped Jalen Green and signed Josh Okogie and JD who should both be Rockets players for a long time. In terms of the core, Stone managed to sign Jabari to a long term deal for less than the max and Reed Sheppard shed his "bust" label. Like I said just unlucky with injuries FVV got injured before playing a minute and Adams missed around 50 games. The main issue is Udoka he has no offensive system. Compare him to Chris Finch it is night and day, Wolves also have a lot of forwards who cant shoot like Julius Randle and Jaden Mcdaniels in fact they shot 24% from 3 still beat the Nuggets.
Stone has sucked since day 1. you all were fooled by picking in the top 4 year after year. glad you are finally starting to see it.
Mismanaged all our assets and salary cap. Needs to be fired, he will never work in the NBA again. And Ime will never be a head coach in the NBA again. He operates like a assistant coach
Fire them both. We probably have enough assets to work with and contend eventually. But, not with Stone and ime calling the shots. Gotta back up. Trade KD and Sengun. Extend the timeline with younger players.
if this was a serious organization, Stone would be fired this offseason gave a 4/52 deal to DFS with a PO in 2028-29…he was garbage all year and unplayable in the playoffs gave Capela 7 mil/yr to be a 3rd string C…he’s unplayable in the playoffs refused to address glaring weaknesses and even attempt to bring in another guard Chicago was offering Ayo Dosunmu for nothing, and he was too busy texting his side chick to notice built a roster so bad we were giving Tate and Aaron Holiday rotation minutes in playoff games…we even trotted Unc out there at one point…we had the worst bench in these playoffs handed Ime a 6 year deal…no attempt to bring in an offensive assistant coach had a juicy BK pick in an incredibly strong 2026 draft and returned the pick back to them he has been awful…absolutely atrocious
I think it’s fair to point out: we have spent $110 mil for 2 yrs of Fred Van Vleet; that 2nd yr wasn’t very good. Steven Adams has only been at full health for basically one yr of his 3 yrs as a rocket We wasted our full mle on an injured DFS We gave a 3 yrs $21 mil fully guaranteed contract to a washed up Clint Capela. We beat the odds on KD’s health this yr, but he also killed chemistry and was out for the playoffs. Other than signing Dillon 3 yrs ago, Stone’s veteran signings have not been good. I won’t even go into ancient history like the Daniel Theis signing or offering an injured Olidipo a 2-yr $45 mil extension. Not giving out cookies for paying Jeff Green and Jock Landale $7 mil a yr either. just look at this objectively! #accountability
Wow didn’t know DFS was a 4-year deal with player option in year 4. For some reason I’ve always thought only the first two years were guaranteed. He really needs to go.
I don't know how Fertita can even be in the same room with Stone after that DFS deal. Seriously. Can you imagine the amount of rage that cheap mother****er must feel every time he has to write that check?
this team is fundamentally flawed in terms of personnel and the wasted, not missed - WASTED, early draft picks ( reed and Jabari) signals he has to go. rockets will be stuck in their current state (mediocre or worse) for at least the next 5 years…if we are lucky
