And I don't think he'd be on a max contract if they didn't win it all. But him being a top 3 player on a Championship team makes him worth every bit of that. I'd have no problems giving Chet the max here if we had just won a championship. Over-paying players because they just won you a championship is what I'd consider a good problem.

Injury prone and making the max. For a max guy he should be doing more than 17/8 a max is like 30% of the cap.

They dont need him to be 25/10 but he might F around and put those numbers up in a few years when that team gets gutted in a year or 2 via contract issues for the role players ..

Nah man unfortunately OKC will never lack cheap players they have a gajillion picks.

Do you know Thomas Sorber is coming next year along with around 5 FRPs. They can cut Hardenstein and Lu Dort with no worries. Presti has done crazy work outside of SGA and another dude going down with injury dont see how they lose tbh.

True but replacing chemistry can be even the most talented teams undoing...I was really just saying Chet could be a 20+/10 guy easily IMO, if they needed him to be..

Sam Presti is the PERFECT example of learning from your mistakes and then obsessing over fixing them and compensating for the bad results from those mistakes.

I fear Ime and Stone will NEVER have this kind of self awareness and wisdom

I researched, Presti had 3 runner ups in the Executive of the Year voting, he only won it last year......that is patience.

He also drags out every new player to visit the Oklahoman Museum to see the bombing event.

Stone learns from his mistakes. After he gave Daniel Theis that bad deal he has never given long term contracts to vets without any team options.

Even now he effed up on FVV and DFS signings but theres no need to panic since they can be dumped at the end of 2026 season.
